I may have the fastest Falco there though
Be good to have the marque well represented at one event. There is a guy around here with an RS250 too. That would kick arse!

I'm up for it if you do it naked. But I wouldn't be surprised if all y'all necks have atrophied from hiding behind those pretty fairings and clip-ons. Now that I think about, don't get naked.

Let us know how the drags go Sensei.

To be honest mate, its not much better/more comfortable at speed than the Hornet was (if you don't tuck anyway).

    Just wondering

Clive what was the vmax reading on your dash? how far out was it to the offical speed?

If by chance your bike is long legged enough and is still accelerating through the quarter the vmax will be better than the "official" figure which is an average only over the distance and sadly is therefore less than you really attained.

So the Busa showed 317 vs 313 didn't it on his GPS.
    Cheers

Damn! Thats pretty accurate then. Only 3 kmh at that speed seems blardy good to me.

Actually.... I don't think there is too much more in it. The speedo stops at 260kph and I had the needle wound off past that (obviously approx 10% optimistic reading on the Ducati speedo). At Feb Sprints last year I did a 236kph on it so pretty sure that is as fast as she will ever go in its standard form. Although the S4RS has the 999 engine, the gearing is a lot shorter and I suspect that Ducati in their wisdom spec'd it to do a much lower max speed for the sake of safety considering the design eg naked, no steering damper, wheelbase etc. Having said that I am not sure the 999's have that great a top speed either. Best I ever did on my 996 was 255kph so I reckon your effort on the Tuono is very respectable and shows that both you and Aprilia have definitely got their shit together with respect to getting the best speed out of a naked bike. I havn't checked but you probably gave me a good seeing to in the Standing starts as well.
    pretentious moi?

Glad to hear Aprilia speedos are acurate. Just been reading about the top-speeds of the Mille over at apriliaforums and it seemed comfortably higher than the Tuono... but then factored in error. But ....

He says the nitrous ran out before he hit the start line.

His GPS recorded 317kph prior to the start line.

OK so he didn't gain any further speed over the timed quarter - must have lost a bit if you had him at 313.
    Cheers
