    More VFR shock issues

Getting my work to rebuild the shock. It's been disassembled and a new bearing and bushing have arrived. Only I've been told that they don't know how to refill it with nitrogen (had none in when they opened it up) cause there seems to be no valve or anything and they're worried it may not be rebuildable. They're going to try and find out themselves, but I said I'd ask on here, so here goes. Does anyone know how to fill it up? It's a remote reservoir type. Or will I be forced to destroy the bike out of anger?

Does it have a floating gas piston? If so it may be encapsulated with radial peening so its a case of destroying the shock to remove it. If you leave it in there you cannot verify the condition of the ''o''ring, which is probably chernobyled anyway. A rubber membrane type gas charge nipple would have to be installed but then how do you remove the swarf?

If its emulsion type then it is a bit simpler. Frankly if these questions are being asked it is a job for a suspension specialist to verify. Remember that if it is done badly it affects both your personal safety and those in your path. I can understand that cost may be a factor but safety should always come first.

Youtube video of "VFR Hate Crime" it is then...

I was getting work to sort it since the boss was gun-ho about it saying it'll easily be sorted. Should've sent it to you mainly because they keep putting off, the bike has been in for 2 weeks now. And most of what you just said was jargon to me, all I know is the reservoir looks solid and doesn't look like there's anyway of getting in without breaking it.

You *actually* reading this Coyote? Riding round the place with your girlfriend in the back of your bike is REALLY dangerous at the moment, when carrying a pillion you need to value their life as much if not more than your own!!!!!

I stopped taking her any further than 2km from her place (basically only to her work or a mates place, all 50k roads) when the shock started getting so bad. And it doesn't look like the bike will be moving untill the shock is sorted as there is no use in putting the shock back together without fixing it or replacing it. I value her life alot, unlike the VFR's or mine

So when you take her from Upper Hutt to the city via the motorway you only go 50kph? Sorry for taking your thread of topic but id rather give you a wake-up call now than you finding out for yourself when its too late! Its been fooked for god knows how long and you were riding through town with her on the back + dodgy brakes only 3 weeks or less ago.

Sorry, there was the trip to Wellington a few weeks back. She lives in Petone so I haven't had her on the back around Upper Hutt.

Brakes are better now, except the front does shake a bit. Not sure if it's pads or the head bearings.

If I'm going to end up killing anyone, it's going to be me or however it was that cut my old helmet off my bike if I ever find them.

If it has a hose reservoir then it can be serviced, I know how to get into them.
