Oh yes, I hear you! Every time we hear someone moaning about their kids we look at each other and say "thank christ we don't have kids!" But blokes have it easy - they are not expected to like kids whereas woman are thought evil if they don't go all gooey over babies and children! We had a friend around yesterday who has just become a grandfather for the first time and he was telling us how his wife was spending all her time emailing baby photos and going on about the new baby. He said "it's a BABY, a grandchild, big deal!"

I think we all know that you hate kids Beemer....

So instead of turning this into... I HATE KIDS thread. As I have a bike and know and have told my children that they are not to touch anyones bike. I think it comes down to the fact that kids are curious creatures, how many times in your childhood did you do things that you regretted. I bet the boy/girl that dropped your bike isnt feeling all that flash about it, and will most certainly wont do it again. BTW I have known of some Adults who have hopped on someones bike without permission and dropped it, it certainly isnt just an age thing. Sorry about your bike btw.

Ha haa Bling sent! As a parent too I have to agree with you on the right kinda attitude for Mr Street Gerbil.
An excellent summation of the realities for a few of the sides of this argument!

The parents will be feeling their pain and anguish well past you being a bit upset about yer damaged chrome. My advice would be to be a little more tolerant so that you can explain to the kids to stay away from your stuff. Talk to them even just a little as you are getting on it, off it whatever and make it absolutely clear that you expect them to LEAVE IT THE HELL ALONE.

Ya know the saying, throw the dog a bone? Kids can be a little like that too....they can get by with the smallest of kindness and notice from those that they have admiration for. They may find you irresistible either for you (prob not though as you said you hate kids - grumpy bum) or for your bike and kids will bend over backwards to please you just for a little kindness and interaction now and then. Show some patience and tolerance and those little buggers could come in handy watching out for your machine that is "sitting in an open and unsecure carport".

Course sometimes kids are just little shits who need a good kick in the pants and their parents are total twats....I hate them and their kids too!

OH and agree totally with Zoolander! At least he wasn't sitting on his arse playing playstation and growing fat! How many of you guys out there were out doing this shit when you were younger too?

No scratches, there are scratches but they were from before this accident, and then there was no accident. Obviously making shit up just to wriggle out of any responsibility

Don't send a letter to the landlord ... I am one and I don't give a shit really if you leave your things where kids can get at them.

That is a thought from that side

The reality is that is a total bummer .. I don't do the kid thing myself ... so I appreciate where you are coming from.

Yesterday. Tamaki drive. I just parked my cage and was about to head to the beach when some idiot kid on a bmx lost control of his bike and crashed into the side of my car, christening it with a nice collection of fresh dings and scratches. I got his father's phone number but I am not sure what to do about it. His dad was right there readily claiming that (a) there are no scratches on the paint and I am imagining them, (b) the scratches were there before the accident and (c) there never was an accident since he was there watching his kid the whole time.
Today some idiot neighbor kids decided to play on my Street Magic, dropped it and ruined $200 worth of fresh chroming. Since I do not know which kid specifically dropped the bike, I don't see how I can force the parents into compensating me. I am contemplating a letter of complaint to the landlord but that's hardly more than mental masturbation - what good could it possibly do?
Why is this shit happening to me??? Damn! Damn! Damn!!!
It's called lack of parental responsibility and is one of the reasons so many youth have it. It's a learned response.

Feel for ya but short of some street justice not much can be done.

Well I mean.... turn it into a thread with all the child haters posting, rather than staying on topic.

Yes, but it appears to be fine for all these GUYS to come on here and moan about the little shits touching their stuff and plot ways to get back at them, but as soon as a woman (or perhaps it's just ME personally) joins in, it becomes a kid-hating thread. Double standards!

I think the point was your hate for kids has nothing to do with them touching your bike.

Think what you like, you've obviously made up your mind about me so there's no point arguing. I was actually responding to someone else's post in case you hadn't noticed.
