    rustys-PMCC race report

Here you are FROSTY: Went over to Taupo for "Kiwi Track Day" on the Friday, early start leaving from home at 5.00am. Took the R6 for a play all day, fantastic weather, think everyone had a great day there, apart from the ones that got involved in a huge pile up in 1st run of the day on the second lap, not nice.

Killed saturday taking in the sites of Taupo.

Sunday: Race day. Skys were cloudy in the morning but looked ok, so changed over the front from a wet back to slick. Had a good 10min practise session. By then rain was visable coming in from the north, so desided to opt for a wet front and leave a slick on the rear for 1st race, but 30min before my first race the rain was getting heavier so went for full wets, what a mad panick, out with the new tyre changer i just imported out from the states what a magic tool that was. Banged the back wheel on and straight out into it.

Race 1:Had a front row start as per results from the final round, got passed by a Ducati going into turn 1, but that was coughing and spluttering passed him on turn 2, then regained a healthy lead on the feild and thats where i stayed to checkerd flag.

Race 2: same again front row start and got the hole shot this time into turn 1, pouring down by now, again another nice win for the day.

Race 3: This was a little interesting as buy the time i gridded up the whole front row was full with 5 bikes across it so calmly sat on 2nd row, and thought well we will make a race of this one. Flag drops 7 bikes ahead on turn one whoopy this is very interesting, so held on to the pack not wanting to let the bunch spread out, as it was an 8 lap race i had plenty of time, so two laps let the tires warm a little, then put the pace on, one buy one i slowly picked each one of till i was up with the two front runners, and they were going real well, thought i might not be able to take another win here, but we all make mistakes, and they left the doors wide open in a couple of turns and on the last lap finally took the lead. Far out what a day over the moon.
Great effort to all the other riders out there to, as the conditions were not the best at all. Thanks to PMCC and all the marshalls its looks like the club has had a resergence with all the helpers. Cheers guys great work and well run
    next PMCC final round.

Good report and sounds like you revelled in the conditions. Your mate on the R1 was absolutely fearless and was making a gap on me in the points. Me well after spending all Saturday getting the bike back together after the Friday pile up I was glad to keep it upright and finish with some points.

Oh please thank your mate for testing the run off on turn one. Hopefully it brings us closer on points so 30 March will be a scorcher of a showdown !

Try ; wikcoindustries@alltel.net the model i have is the MC110.200. freight is high but i do a lot of tyre fitments at home. Beauty of it is its portable and comes with beadbreaker, purely designed for motorcycle wheels.
