you clearly havnt got the art of putting them off to ride by your self and it not bothering them

wait till a day or time there busy doing something and you think and say about going out on the bike tomorrow

then you say i might go get some fuel for the bike ill be back in 20 ,like an hour usually to get fuel works

Or you make out youve altered something on the bike so you need to go for a ride to see if its better or worse this of course sets up a short ride later .....

    scheming

How would any girlfriend feel if her bloke was always bitching about her talking on the phone for hours, shopping etc and not spending time with him?? No doubt she would be pissy about it.

You should not need to scheme. If you are in an understanding supportive relationship you should be able to do what you like withouth 'lying' to your partner, and vice versa.

Why do some couples have to be surgically joined at the hip? Everyone needs their space and time out, if going out on the bike for an hour gives you yours whats the big deal?

    NOthing at all..

But there is a difference between open and honest 'give and take' AND always feeling you are being 'schemed and manipulated' into being good about accepting the bike time.

WTF.I think for the majority of KBers that a bike is a little more than that
Old Biker saying"If my wife let me ride her as often as my bike does I'd be at home right now"

You of course look to assume that bikers are men. I can assure you there is a big difference between the pleasure from my bike and the pleasure from my man...know which one I'd pass up if I had to...and no it ain't the man!

Though even if I could ride him whenever I want - I'd still want my bike too.

I really have to agree with a lot of what everyone else has said, such as Number One... I'm a chick and I can't stand boyfriends who want to be with me every second of the day. I like this oxygen thing, and I don't want it restricted.

I agree with what Patch says - make an effort with her.

But I also say that if bikes are your main passion, it's good to find a girl who can at least appreciate that you want to get out and ride alone. You might be able to get your current one to do that by taking Patch's advice (it's very good advice)...

There's a healthy median. One of my good friends told me he could never be with a woman whom could not handle him spending as much time with his bike as he did her, purely because they're not only a hobby, but his work as well; and he couldn't be with any woman that could not at least pillion well or preferrably had a bike of her own.

    So what do you want?

    Well put

A couple should compliment each other not complete each other. They should embrace thier differences and enjoy their similarities. if they can share joint hobbies all the better.

Yip... Well I have a big enough range of hobbies to be able to share with everyone I know!

Mind you I scare people off so I don't know that many.

You'll get older and wiser - I hope... Biking is dangerous after all

Oh and STEAM, i realise a bigger bike will help takin a pillion but im talking bout goin for a properly fast ride (relative to a cbr250) scraping the pegs and flicking it between corners, hard braking etc and even on a bigger bike the extra 60kg or so sitting high behind u duznt help. If im just goin for a cruise i dont mind taking the girlfriend at all, and she likes it. The issue is she duznt understand y i want to go out bymeself sometimes... mmmm the freedom
Nevermind skidMark - fortunately his license is broken as well... for the time being.
And I can't believe noone has said it yet: If you're scraping you pegs - get on your toes and/or hang off your bike more. Try this on for size and consider taking her along a challenge (not as to how fast you can go - but simply just to adapt to a new situation).

Probably because noone on a ZXR would consider a 250 hornet a challenge - it's a little bit like when boyracers pull along in their souped up shitbuckets and wanna have a drag. You let them go - because it's better to have the dangerously insane in front of you where you can keep an eye on them.

And maybe you should just graciously thank him, and appreciate the fact that he is willing to do that. Surely, he wouldn't do it if he was not comfortable with it.

Sometimes, the hardest thing to do is to keep it simple and not over analyse in a relationship. Let it be, and just enjoy!
