Gotta shake my head at myself after a good sneeze inside my full face, time to pull over for a clean up.....
i have a few.
almost flipped the ER6n at sulpher city, it was so boring we went out behind it on the road and held illegal drags down the straights
i was determined to beat a GSR 600 and launched a touch too hard
mormon few style
Put my helmet on, then my gloves, then look around wondering where I put my helmet.
Forgot about the bicycle wrapped around my front wheel. Twice on my old RG, once the day after getting my VFR.
Try to crash start the RG with the killswitch set on 'off'.
Countless sidestand mishaps. Learnt my lesson about parking on hills.
On my old CBR, went to fast into a garage. Sticky tarmac to dusty concrete, slam. Spork and Jamezo saw that one.
Lent my CBR to a friend, he went straight into a gutter.
Used my jersey to tie a 14" scooter wheel onto the pillion seat and went over the Rimutakas. Rear wheel just couldn't reach but it tried.
At a trackday, decided to showboat and do a stoppie. Bike tilts to the side, I barely catch it from falling, several bikers look and laugh.
Wheelie practice on my old KX80. Landed on my back several times.
Rode a Raptor 700 with the handbrake on. Though to myself "Whoa, this has wicked engine braking!".
Kept a helmet through 5 hard knocks. Was replaced after it was stolen.
Almost flipped a 450 quad into a 4x4 at work in front of the boss's friends who immediately went to taddle tail on me.
That's all off the top of my head.
I've seen someone on a GN250 pull up to the lights in West Auckland and forget to put their feet down. The bike fell ever-so-gracefully sideways.
I quite often put my gloves on before my helmet or before zipping up my jacket ..... I do it to disarm people, I'm so intimidatingly cool normally ....![]()
Put Deisel in my SV...
Forgot to put my back pack on to go to work because I have a back protector so did not feel the lack of a back pack.
Parked on steep slope, I left the bike in 1st gear all was sweet. Hopped off, then standing next to the bike, I squeezed the clutch...![]()
Religion is not the opium of people. Opium is
Side stand kill switch for me. And i did not put the side stand out properly ona 250 coro loop. and it fell. into a ditch. with me further in the ditch. Luckely i could use my super human strength to push it out very quickly and everybody was looking at renegade masters CBR which had lost a fairing boltall good.
I've had quite a few close calls like resting the bike on the side stand without it being fully extended.
Failed to inform my girlfriend that she wasn't to try and move the bike without me. ...couple of scratches on the lefthand fairing, learned how much it weighed, etc.
I often forget to put my earplugs in until I am on the bike - headed out of town - in a group
What you do for spelling I do for physics...
Obviously only the vertical speed is relevant for how fast the bike hits the floor. The motion would indeed describe an arc with the centre being the contact patches - which also move slightly as the bike tilts over.
When it comes to describing an arc there are only two relevant characteristics: the radius and the angle. What do you mean by "the same length"?
Depending on the design of the bike the fairing, engine components, footpegs, etc. are going to become the new pivot point as the bike leans over far enough. Using the conservation of angular momentum and energy for the system it is possible to calculate the increase in the speed resulting from this...
As for stupid - it could be worse...
Yep, I've had a fight with that as well...![]()
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
Remember your humanity, and forget the rest. - Joseph Rotblat
Set the fast idle lever so I can maintain 120km/h and free both hands to adj my gloves. Settle back down in time to brake hard for the first corner, tip in, ease off the brake and the bike leaps forward... almost like the fast idle hadn't been put back. Heh 'interesting'.
"If life gives you a shit sandwich..." someone please complete this expression
Dumbest probably was leaving the keys in the ignition barrel then comming back 8 hours later from work and finding my bike is still there *phew*. This happend in downtown Melbourne city.
Visiting my dear old mum, Time to leave I roar off down their gravel drive, Munted Sporter jumps out of gear as I head downhill, I rev her hard and jam it back into gear, rear wheel spins like crazy, I shoot down hill, off the corner, hit a tree, come to rest with the bike laying across the back of my legs, pinning me to the ground.
Tried damn hard to pull myself out from under the bike but couldn't move an inch as she weighed a ton, and too embarrassed to call out.
Me dear old mum looks out the window 15 minutes later and there I am, lieing under the bike...not moving a muscle, not making a sound.
She freaks out, figues Im either dead or knocked out, Runs out of the house, sprints down the drive way, Grabs my heavy as a dead horse Sportster, and throws the damn thing off me with one movement.
Was fucking amazing.
Hum, I'm not sure which one is the worst.
Park downhill in neutral on an unstable ground with my new bike, in front of a cafe in a popular tourist destination. Then take something out of my bag. Heh, it seems to move, let's shake it to see if it's the bag or the bike. The clutch lever saved the bike, but damn 250kg is heavy.
Forgot the keys on the bike. With the light on. For a couple of days. The bike was still there, not the battery power.
Start the bike, put the gear on and ride. Then wonder why the bike suddenly stops. Notice the front disc lock as my eyes are getting closer and closer to the ground. No damage to the bike.
Walked into St Lukes Mall ASB branch after a long ride in full biker gear.
Didn't realise I was wearing it.
Black helmet, black balaclava, black cordura jacket and pant, black gloves and boots.
The little Asian lady at reception started crying.
Put my keys on the counter and "rather quickly" took my helmet off...![]()
