    Tauranga Newbie (tbone)

Hey - just thought I'd post a quick message and say gidday! Newbie biker, got a Yamaha Virago 250 and had the first proper ride this morning (only about 5 km - was abit nerve racking, especially since it was really pouring down with rain!).

Still abit nervous with roundabouts and low speed riding, but practicising all the time!

Welcome to the madhouse! Shiny side up.. Extra care in the rain and all that. Might make it to the Tauranga meet some time myself.

Welcome TBone! I'm just getting back into riding or hoping too, once I have a battery, after ten years and three pregnancies. I hope my centre of gravity's where it used to be .....

I'll be doing the same as you, wobbling carefully around the roundabouts (why do Tauranga roading engineers love them so much???!!).

I'm hoping to get to the Thursday night shindig at Drivers so might meet you there!

Better than having nothing but straight roads.

Welcome to the site Tbone, may have seen you cruising around town before. Not too many XV250's here.

    Thanks!

Thursday night sounds good, might make it this week (got previous work commitments though - bugger!) but will make it to next weeks meet up at Drivers for sure!

Getting rid of the cage sometime this week, so it'll be all bike! Not sure if that's the best idea to only have a bike, but it's probably the best way to learn!

Corners are definately way better than straight roads though - I remember yonks ago in Aussie (in a car) going across the Nullarbor - not that exciting except for seeing the road trains!
