Mothers Motorcycle club race day.

This'll be short.

Got up at sparrow fart Saturday morning to get a pit shed, should have slept cos we were the second there.

Race one, no grid posititions allocated, or grid row numbers for that matter. I got a good first race, (read, as fast as you dare on the warm up lap to get on the front row) along with 12 others, WTF!? Left the line ok and passed three out of four bikes that got away quicker through the first 2 turns. Peter Tanner had a good lead on me, and after a brief moment of chasing I thought fuck it, and cruised round for second.

Race two, Le Mans start. This is different, I enlisted the help of a total stranger to hold my bike for the start, flag drops, and we start running, well all of us except Flame, who decided she was tired and lay flat on her face instead. Throw a leg over my bike and thought I did pretty well, as I pulled out a 675 went screaming past bloody fast, young fella who can run should have been handicapped I reckon I got by a few other guys that started well but couldn't real in the Trumpy or Tanner again so came in third.

race three, by this stage there's plenty of oil on the track from a few harley bins, and yet more agan in turn one which red flags the race, I managed to hold the Trumpy off to cross the line in second again.

Heavens open, day gets called off, that's it.

I cant help but wonder where all the Bears bikes are stashed for the rest of the year, there were a shit load of guys on Dukes, aprilias, and Triumphs that I've never seen at any other meeting. Get them out more often people, bring a Bears series back to the north Island.

Funniest moment of the day, the guy that came over to me and congratulated me on a good race together, I felt a twang of remorse when I replied, "na mate, you were tussling with my missus." Hope he either didn't hear me, or if he did, didn't take it the wrong way.
