Does anyone polish or apply something similar to their visors?
A friend told me that using pledge or a similar polish on the outside of your visor both protects it and helps water run off.
Till now all I have been doing is cleaning it. Any thoughts?![]()

I just wipe with armoural on a rag
and wipe all excess off
makeing sure the rag is clean "only used with the armoural"
and wipe all excess off with another clean rag
I thought Amoural was never supposed to be applied to glass or clear plastic?
In my experience Armourall smears and reduces vision. I use Pledge and that works well - rain beads and runs off, vision is clear, gets rid of splattered bugs without scrubbing. If there is a risk of fogging I use CatCrap on the inside after cleaning with Pledge - I find that CatCrap isn't good for cleaning. The only downside for Pledge is that I have yet to find a small bottle for travel.
Cheers
I've always just used hot water and a soft cloth to clean both helmet and bike! Never used a "rain-off" type of product, and now with the screen I don't have any probs with the helmet visor getting very dirty.
Just do this after each ride and everything stays good!
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!
We use Plexus and it is fantastic.
Baby wipes do an okay job too, and they come in little packets that fit in your pocket.
Diarrhoea is hereditary - it runs in your jeans
If my nose was running money, I'd blow it all on you...
I use car tinted window cleaner for my iridium visors ,gets all the crap off and doesn't do any damage to the tint.
I think the trick is to not use anything with ammonia in it![]()

I soak my visor for a while then wipe all the bugs and stuff off. Then let it dry and then polish with pledge furniture polish and a soft cloth. Bit of a hassle but it gets it so clear that sometimes try to close the visor and find its already closed. I also never wipe it clean when riding unless it gets so dirty that its dangerous because over time that scratches it (just take it off and wash it in the toilets at the gas station if necessary).

Ideal - cheers guys
Plenty of baby wipes around here!!!Should do the trick when I'm out and about.

I take the visor off and clean carefully in warm water and dishwash liquid. Keep washing carefully until its spotless and rinse really well. Dry right away with a clean tea towel. Add a coat or six of turtlewax "Ice" (from Repco) according to the instructions. This Ice shit is awesome - when you are done with the visor, go Ice your bike and watch the magic, especially on black.
I carry a very small bottle with water+detergent and a soft cloth in my jacket pocket. Lasts for ages.

Can someone tell me , does the pledge when you wipe it off leave any residue at all
asking this cause armoural does , so i buff it for ages to remove all the excess
It works fine otherwise
just wondering if the pledge may be easier to remove .
what about on plastic like the screen

We've tried Plexus and prefer Pledge. It's superior for water beading and run-off.
