What I don't get is that the owner of the car was informed through a 3rd party that damage had been done to the car. This is after months of not hearing anything from the friend who borrowed the car.
No action is taken and then a few months passes by before the friend crashes the car...
Why didn't the owner pick up on that? After months of not hearing anything at all, then a 3rd party damage report and then another couple of months before the bigger incident.
Seems odd to me. Not the way I'd lend out any of my possessions...
The inaction of the lender could become an issue if this turns into a legal case!
