Ignore the bashers and go and enjoy! Many of the bashers have either been through the licencing process or got their licence years ago before the GDLS so don't understand the appeal of the bigger feel Hyosung because they don't have to. Also, they don't consider how their biased comments might hurt others feelings. Many people develop an attachment to their bikes and sometimes cars/etc, as an extension of themselves, so take it personally when derogatory comments are made about their mode of transport. I tend to ignore these comments as ill-considered and ignorant.

I really like my Hyosung and am even considering keeping her after I get my full. I like the look probably more than anything and also many of my friends are suitably impressed. I am a little more than chuffed that someone as small as me can ride a beast this size! And I get many many favourable comments and looks from other riders.

    I'm stoked I bought her!

the difference you noticed in power delivery is due to different engine architecture. The ZZR is an inline twin, where as the Hyobag is a V-twin. The v-twin will be slightly torquer, whereas the parallel/inline twin will rev a little more due to the piston arrangement and as such makes its power in a different fashion.

Twins generally produce 'lazy' power and it is spread over a broader range, whereas an inline four, especially such as the CBR/ZXR/FZR 250's use revs to make power, and for that reason are more fun to ride for some people as you need to work the gears to keep them on the go. Two strokes even more so!

One thing to point out... the ZZR is a scaled down sports tourer, thats why it feels so 'low', also it's probably a 12+ year old bike so the suspension has probably lost a lot of its feel - and would have been much better when it was 'new' like your hyosung.

How did they compare for braking?

e.g this 20 year old CBR has an asking price the same as a new naked GT250.

Now once your out of the 250cc market and can get a 400 or 650 then I would start considering the CBR.

If you've got the money to purchase a new bike to see you through your learners then I dont see why you wouldnt. Most buy a 250cc bike to fulfill the licensing requirements. Power or top speed shouldnt really matter if you are learning to ride a bike - but I guess if its there you will use it

Most of us will upgrade our 250s when we get our full - although it seems alot of people like to keep the 250 for commuting - and the Hyo does a good job at that with its available low end.

Im sending mine for a before and after dyno now that Ive got the Screaming Demon. Re-jetting after some airbox mods and the AIS kit. Will post the results.

Still cant decide between the 2007-08 R6 and CBR600rr. Get my full in August CBR looks good on paper, but the R6 just looks farkin good! Test ride!

Everything I didn't like about the ZZR would be even worse on a CBR...they're even smaller, the engine would be even revvier (if that's a word), the noise would be all high pitched and whiney.
You have to all take a long hard look in the mirror and ask your selfs why do you get out of bed in the morning. Hyosung is like the honda element (car) - its for people who have givin up on life.

Why do people still prefer a 20 year old bike to a brand new hyo? because its better. Will the hyo's be selling in 20 years? i doubt it. zxr cbr are simply better bikes. everything about them is better (save fuel economy and ergonomics - woman type stuff).

bang for buck the cbr and zxr are the best. Hell i'd even want a fizzer over a hyo.

all you new aged hyo lovin hippies are wrong.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

The ZZR has a single dish up front...whereas I've added the second to my GT250. Overall it felt like the Hyo had more initial bite bust less overall power.

Some of this could be down to the adjustable levers on the ZZR. My partner had them set to the mushiest feel possible...which I had to tweak just to feel comfortable riding it.

Once I've had all my brake pads replaced for aftermarket ones, I reckon the Hyo should stop better.

And the main difference behind this is the engine really isn't it?
The high compression, high revving, 4cyl bike vs the lazy V-Twin .

So by your logic a ZX-10R is "better" than a Ducati Monster S2R.

To me they're just different bikes for people who want different things...and I'm well happy knowing that the bike I chose is the right style for me.

they dont, thats the whole point of this thread. dont get me wrong i like old cbrs etc but i prefer a new bike. If your in a position where money isn’t a major factor in the buying process why not go new.
from what i understand "they" have sold a few hyosungs these past few years.

its ok, you dont have to be scared they're just different... bit like those funny looking Japanese cars... they'll never catch on either... now where’s my Buick …. ...

I shouldnt even bother to reply to your child like comments, but I will (mainly cos im a dick).

Is a zx10r better than a ducati monster? perhaps. Did my logic imply that? No.
I couldnt care less if a bike had 100hp or 20hp as long as it was a good bike. I couldnt care if it had 0 cylinders or 2345.3. The hyo is budget bike, the cbrs and zxrs are top of the line[not really the best you can buy, but the best you can buy stock]. Simple facts.

Im not sure if the monsters have the same spec susspension and chassis, but i'll assume the 10r is better. (has more hp so has the susspension etc to match).

If you are thinking about this in 20 years from now - im sorry...

    for you.

In 20 years, my bike will hover 3ft from the ground... what the fark is 20 years ago. Thats 1988. Even Michael J Fox was young.

    grow up.

in 20 years from now you will have a lot more things to worry about... thats for sure!
