Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

We may split the ride if theres people wanting to go north. I can guess theres going to be some who won't want to go north (I'm probably one of them). It's a nice ride though.

Ah, I thought it was you I saw Sunday night. I came out on your right from Cashmere road, Halswell Quarry park just as you were cruising into Halswell.
Waved at you, you had a pillion as well.

Anyway, might see you guys tomorrow evening. We'll see how the day goes.

    .....
Indeed it was me, I did wave back but wasn't sure who I was waving at.
We'd been out logging a few shingle roads for the Adventure routes website and hunting geocaches while at it. J was relaxing on the back, I'm quicker on hilly shingle two up than she is riding solo.

Nah, the ZXR250 looks a bit different without its fairings that's for sure.

Sounds like you had a fun trip!

Five helicopters and several rural fire pumps are being used to battle a large scrub fire on Christchurch's Port Hills.

The fire is burning about 50 hectares of pine plantation undergrowth. The blaze is in a rural area well away from the city limits, with no houses in the area.

Helicopters are being used as the area is too difficult for ground crews to get to.

The Summit Road is closed from the Sign of the Kiwi on Dyers Pass Road.

WOnt be going tonight, 2 much to sort out for the weekend.....

    yeah recieved this

New Zealand Police Alert 1:00am 18 Mar 2008 Canterbury

    Location of incident: Christchurch

    Incident type: Suspicious Fire

    Media Release: Port Hills Fire
Today Police have been working with the Fire Service trying to ascertain the cause of the fire which began last night.
Just off the road there has been found a Nissan Primera car and it would seem that this vehicle was at the heart of where the fire has started.
The car was reported stolen from the Wigram area after 10 pm last night.
'We would be very interested in any sightings of a silver or grey Nissan Primera car on the summit road after 10pm.' said Detective Senior Sergeant John Rae of the Southern CIB.
'There was likely to have been another vehicle with the Primera,' he said, 'which would have taken the people responsible for dumping the car there away from the area. If anyone can provide any information as to the actions of the person(s) in the Primera and an associated vehicle we would be pleased to hear.'
CIB staff can be contacted at the Hornby Police station on 344 1800.
