    Car vandalized?

My car got stratched recently by some low life loser. Is this kind of thing common here in NZ? Why do they do it? Has your car or bike ever been vandalized? Do you know of anyone who has been caught doing this and what was their punishment?

If it was up to me I would shoot the bastard.

Yes, it's fantasic. It's my first bike so I don't have anything to compare it with but it feels just great. Plenty of power for around town and handles very well. I like the smooth gearshifting. It seems very well put together.

Did it not occur to you that this might be someones' high-achieving, considerate, and very special teenage son that you mouthwhipped ? If it was MY high-achieving, considerate, and very special teenage son that you sent home in tears, then don't be surprised if I came back at 11pm and coined your fucking car.

Society does not need more people like you who are prepared to jump to some shaky conclusion and go bash someone because of your preconceived ideas.

If you have enough money to afford two brand new hiluxes then perhaps you might show some leadership in other areas as well ?

yea well this "high achieving, considerate and special boy" was 16 and started picking on my 12 year old son as he was walking home from school which was delt with with his parents and soon after the damage started this special boy also started giving me the fingers every time he saw me...so you think what you want perhaps instead of letting him know i knew he was doing it i should have waited around at night with a baseball bat and given him a beating as he was doing it, but im shure if somebody was vandalizing your property you would be ok with that.........wanker

Overeaction...just tell him you will call the Police...why do you have to use OT violence as a threat...

I did the same with some guys hooning around in their big bore cars and no problems since...respect all round

Your description of the slack-jawed, mouth-breathing, improvident lackwitted oxygen theif souund waayy too nice.

Yes, sadly our streets are littered with such moron - no doubt somebodies darling little boy (or girl) with no aspitations and even less motivation whose best position in life would be at the bottom of an offal pit.

They don't get 'punishment' here in NZ.

We have three cars in our household, one of which has to sleep on the street. Although we live in an excellent and quiet neighbourhood, the car has been subject to multiple acts of petty vandalism, the latest of which was having the rear quarterlight window smashed. I was beginning to think it was a vendetta against my son, until I discovered there's been a spate of window smashings in the area. I suspect it's lowlifes who pass through at 2 or 3 in the morning, but I can't work out what possible entertainment value it could have.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

We have had the same problem.

We have three cars, and a bike. Often if we have friends over they have to park out the front. Twice we have had issues with a car going up the road and putting bricks / rocks thru the windows of all cars parked out on the road (actually we have nice cobbled parking bays so the cars are not even on the road).

Spoke to the cops - they basically said - its a nice neighbourhood - scum who cannot afford to live here drive up to see how the 'rich' live get pissed and vandalize out of jealously.
