Hey - here's a radical proposal... why not just POST THE FUCKING NUMBER! If you guys are so intent on somehow representing bling, why not use the tried and true method from the last... 4,000 years?
There's only 10 characters to choose from (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,and 9) and they automatically display in a logarythmic fashion (i.e. each extra step takes a power of 10... )

just like "rate my boobies"....cept no boobies..

Right, I've finished fiddling (I think).

The algorithm that was originally used was shit cos it would display the correct number of coloured squares, but they were the wrong colours. I've rewritten it (and improved it a little I might add) so that it now displays the correct number of squares. It will now show up to 5 light colour ones before going to a dark colour.

yellow = 100 rep points
brown = 200 rep points
light blue = 1000 rep points
dark blue = 2000 rep points
light green = 10,000 rep points
dark green = 20,000 rep points

Because I rewrote the code for displaying the bar I changed the boundaries too. They are now 1,500 and 15,000.

Still not right. If you have, say, 15700 points, it should display one light green, two dark blue , one light blue, three brown and one yellow.

Nope. The implied behaviour is that once a threshold is achieved, the granularity of the display diminishes accordingly.
