VFR 800 tryes, needed ideas??

Hi all, I currently have Pirelli Diablo strada rear and corsa front. Found them to be good all round, but looking at trying something differ. After some thing to give long life and great grip and in all coniditions. The bike gets used every day, plus weekend fun rides and long trips too. The front has still some miles left so thinking about leaving that on for a while longer but if advise is change both then will do or if you could tell me which profile to use with leaving the front on.
Any advise on brands would be great as they all say the same stuff really. And if you have had or own a VFR 800 that would be awesome to hear form you with your type of tyres you have had on.

I have a VFR800 (2001) and absolutely love the Avon Storms - they're the best tyres I've ever had. However, I must add a rider in that I've only ever ridden bikes with sport/touring tyres on, apart from the last three previous changes where I put a sports tyre on the front to sharpen up the steering (unnecessary with the Storms). So if you want to know about pure sports tyres, I can't help you.

On the 800, I've had Bridgestones (BT020), which sucked (especially the front), Avon Azaros (sport-touring rear, sports front) and the Storms.
My previous bike (VTR1000) had a Pirelli Dragon and a Diablo on it, which were crap, which I replaced with Azaros.
Before that, I had a VFR750, which had Shinkos (stink), the old Azaros (better), then Bridgestones (BT020R and BT012F), which were good.

Currently running Bridgestone BT-020's on the viffer, which came factory fitted from new. First impressions were that they were a bit "squirrelly" under certain circumstances. Now with a few thousand km's on them, I am quite happy with them and they behave superbly.

Previous bike was a '96 750, with new Pilot Road's fitted. Bloody excellent tyre!! Loved them immensely and will happily go back to them. Wet and dry performance was superb.

Pilot Powers will be on the list of contenders as replacements. Will make the decision when the time arrives.

I didn't like the 020s, too exciting in the wet by far. I dumped them early and put Metzeler Z6s on. I'd still like to try Pirelli Stradas one day, or Avon Storms, or Michelen PR2, but then that'll likely mean buying two tyres when I may only need one so...

Hi guys, thanks for ya help. Have looked up that site and lots of info on tyres their. Sounds like the storms are the way to go. And seem to get good milage out of them too. Does any one know who stocks these Avon storms or Pirelle's in ChCH??

Go and see Don at Pitlane, if he hasn't got them on the shelf he'll be able to get them

FWIW, any bike shop can get any tyre you're after if they're willing to help, we've all got access to any of the distributors/suppliers

So far the front corsa as done 8000miles = 12,800 km and the rear strada 7000miles = 11,200km so na not really.( I think that is pretty good miles?? is it??) I still have a 1500 plus miles on the front and 1000 plus miles for the rear. I from what i get off the link above the storms are even better?

um yeah im not sure
i have about 4000 km on the rear it a m6 road tec
and is just showing a very small flat in the centre , im guessing it should get about another 10 000km , i think it should do it easy , maybe more after all the more it wears the more is on the road maybe another 12000
