    Brake fluid

Has anyone seen green coloured brake fluid? It isn't contaminated but that it just looks green out of the bottle. Is it safe on DOT4 brake systems?

Just buy a new container if in doubt. It's not exactly expensive!

I've seen brand new Shell come out of the bottle green, and it is ok.

Just depends on what brand, as to colour; there's clear, blue, green, & red.

Shell Advance Brake fluid is Green & it's Dot3/4 rated

I like to change colour as you can tell when you have done a complete flush of the old brake fluid.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

No it is definitely not coolant. Coolant is bright green but this is dull or tinted green.

Oh ok glad to hear that. Took my bike to a mechanic to get fluid changed and he say it is the same just the colour different. He also said what lemans said with different colour at least you can tell something has changed.

Well as long it does not damage my seals. Its amazing after a fluid change the brakes feel as though like when I first bought the bike.. thanks guys

A lot of people do not even change their brake fluid.
It is a good idea to do it even 6 months to a year. (after winter)
And every 3 months for a dirt bike because of all the water and crap you ride though.
