CBR250 front mudguard removal

My bike is a CBR250 MC19 and i need to remove the front mudguard to get it painted, i know this probably shouldnt be hard, my problem is i have undone all the bolts on the guard and it appears that the only way to remove it is by also removing the front wheel! is there a way to get it off without removing the front wheel? or if there isnt, how would i go about it without a front stand? Any advice welcome!

P.S. anyone know a good paint shop in central auckland to get all my fairings and tank painted?

I suspect you will have to take the front wheel off, though I do not know your model of bike at all. Do you have any motorcycle tie downs? If so, find a sturdy beam and place the tie downs around your handle bars and hoist the front up that way. Some bike you can get away with hoisting the bike up backwards on the sidestand and jam a block of wood under the motor or frame rails. Best of luck

Am wanting to do the exact same thing myself sometime! Yeah seems the only way is to remove the front ay, bit gay but oh well!

yeah, the suzuki bandit has the same problem... don't try to force it or it will crack.

hoist her up and either remove the wheel or drop out the forks

just remember DO NOT hoist it by the handle bars! they're made to take 50kg, not 150! try putting the tire down around the frame up by the steering instead

Yeah the only way i know is to remove the front wheel (its esay enough) but never though about hoisting the bike up, it might just work (worth a try anyway) let us know how you get on

Just dropped my new fairings and tank into shop to get some sexi paint thrown on em so i'll tell you how i get on with removing the mudguard sometime next week prob..
