... just couldn't find anything suitable during my search. My outer ears must be awkwardly shaped and my inner canals are definitely smaller than average, as quoted by my doctor who is forever sorting out ear infections and wax build up problems. No where in my post did I say I hated canalphones!!! or earbuds!!! Each to his own when it comes to comfort......

Please note canalphones are different to 'earbuds'.
I'm talking about good ~$100 canalphones. They even come with 3 different size of rubber end bits - small, medium and large.

Used both, foam ones stay in a little better but I find they tend to irritate my ears a bit.

Just got some fake Sennheiser CX300's off TradeMe for $9.60
They seem to work well.
External noise is a little louder than with foam earplugs but I can hear every word in the songs and they don't hurt my ears.

Let's see how long they last

Great thead, I too use ear canal headpohnes.

I bought some good quality PANASONIC one for about $50.00 from Dick Smith.

The great thing was, it came with a lanyard and the headphones are attached to it. It also had clips on each side so clip your headphones in when you're not using it so it stops the cords from messing up and I hated unwinding messed up cords.

The way it's designed it even distributes the weight on the cords on to the lanyard so you don't get the cords snagging or getting it weighted up in one area.

The way I see it, you guys should all get one with a lanyard.

This is something you won't REGRET buying!

Sennhesier makes them but they're PRICEY, I reckon somebody do a search or something.

A lot of these do sound really great, and not bad prices either...but i've got oddball canals, and cant wear buds! now what?

Then I definitely recommend them. Good sounding, and very comfortable, feels like just a bit of padding on my ears. And you just leave the speakers and plub in your helmet when you take it off . Will be using them in my snowboard helmet this coming winter too.

Yep, cheap as too! Had them for maybe two weeks now and listen to the good old ipod anytime I'm riding for say more than 20mins. Nice and easy and no more sore ears! Only thing is I worry about the cars around me at light, I've had some weirds looks I think they must have heard me singing

i spent $30 on a pair of earphones that hook over the top of my ears so when i put my helmet on the dont come out, they do the trick, great sound and block out most of the road noise.
