    Gosh that's a big spider!

    I just found this fella doing some good work of stopping bugs coming up my back stairs. He's rather large and brown, anyone know what kind of spider he is?

    Nah, don't know his type, but quite common round here. Seems to like dirt and moisture.

    Ahh well, he's doing a good job, so I'll leave him there, just want to make sure he's not dangerous to me or my cat first!

    Cool. Big ups to you for not squishing him. Looks like a Black Tunnel Web spider to me. Their bite may be painful but it's not dangerous.
