I did a quick calculation, $626 for the discounted series with transponder hire, 6 oil & filter changes, bike fuel, 1 set tyres, a new chain and fuel for the van.
The Total $2,000
No luxuries like garages ~$500, new brake pads, spare parts or accom. @ Taupo. This also excludes MNZ licence renewal @ $125

Will this stop me? probably not...but something to think about...donations welcome.

Where are the forms for race licences? i can only find the 07/08 ones and a picture of a rather nice looking dirtbike on the MNZ webpages.
It was my understanding that the 07/08 season is just about finished?
Do they give out licences cheeper if you get them this late in the season?

I usually cover my brake lever when going into Jennian at Puke, so not very big at all.

Not strictly true is it. Apart from the fact that it's not 1 year, you go from Clubmans to F3 to Supersport to F1 as a natural progression. The choice is yours.

The new concept does help move on those who are now riding well and running 5-7secs a lap faster than the rest of clubmans but stay there so they can win the championship. It seems way fairer to move on and let some other newbies have a crack.

Hi Grub, I have spoken to Clive about these changes and he agrees it should be looked at. There are special cases that this affects.
I for one don't regard changing classes as 'moving up ' ! Just having to buy another bike. My days of chasing so called championships are well gone. I'm just out there for the fun and believe clubmans should be for other than it is.
I happen to have a bike I like and want to give it a work out every now and then.
Besides, how many egos would be shattered if an old guy went round the outside !!!!!!!! Gaz.
