yeah fishy I'm afraid to say. A range of excuses could be added but to not much point. I got 3rd & 2nd when I swapped back to my 50. Bayden the inverse . Tex wasn't there & Sully was having 'issues'.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
Yeah and there was a bit too much ot that going on an' all. Here's hoping that the video referee will be disqualifying those that use corner cutting to gain a place.
Was an awesome day. Having geared up for freezing wind, rain, hail and snow it turned out toasty warm and a great day's racing. Parker just has to get some brakes before next meeting he was just plain scary.
Got something you wanna say to me Grub?
From my observations there were quite a few riders cutting through those *shikanes* on the straights.
What I can say with my hand on my heart is that when I did do it (in the actual point races) I was not passing anyone that was *actually* ahead of me...so while I might have got past some people those particular manouevres didn't earn me any places...it just felt a lot safer to pass SOME people in that place than it would've been for me to undercut them in the proper corners.
Disqualifying for it? Meh, whatever the man in charge decides will be fine with me, I'm not gonna cry about it. I know I didn't get any of my placings from cutting those particular "corners" but if I am to be stripped of my first placing - I'll just have to ride harder next time and btw I will (in light of the comments about cut corners) be looking to stuff my bike up the inside of anyone in my way next time.![]()
Stay calm. Just going to add my 10 cents. (Value added special)
I don't think there should be any corner cutting during races. It's outside normal racing rules. On a proper race track it's usually grass and rumble strips anyway. The reason for the side wall tyres is so you can lean the bike over them with catching them.
Part of racing is getting past backmarkers before the rider behind catches up to you. Therein lays the issue I have with the practice. By cutting the corner you gain advantage over the rider chasing you.
In saying all this I would not happy to see disqualifying, banning, black flagging or any other such measures as it's not in the spirit of the class. But neither is cutting corners.
Just my opinion.
And yes; I did cut that corner twice during practice. Once on purpose and once because I fucked up. I think most of us cut that corner at least once...

Yep, same. That and some of the people in the 'B' class are very unpredictable and all over the place so I had to cut the corner to stop myself from ramming "someone" up the arse a couple of times!!!
Its all about learning and having fun though at the end of the day. Right?!
"Some people are like clouds, once they fuck off, it's a great day!"
I hear what you are saying Skunk (regarding the rider who is trying to catch you from behind)..that makes sense though my thinking on that was that they too could take that line.
My thinking has come from having sat and watched a fair amount of bucket racing over the years and having observed it happening quite a bit, I was of the understanding that so long as you weren't making places it wasn't a big deal - seen guys doing it heaps and never been told not to. Infact I was doing it during the first two practise rounds and no one even mentioned it then....
Anyway - I am calm...and as I said if it is determined that those of us that did take the straight lines get disqualified I'll suck that up and take it like a man.
Yeah yeah enough politics (Admitally i was being a dangerous dick at the start of the day my bad, i learnt!), we want more picture's!
Ill pull out my bucket for next race, almost there.
