Speaking of that, I met Ron Jeremy once. He was a top guy.

Same here, had never heard that before, but then I do tend to be rather oblivous to the rules and regulations of social interaction, AND tend to do what I want anyway.

I have some lesbian friends and they don't ride bikes.

I also know a MILF or two, and THEY don't ride bikes either!

If someone does think I'm a lesbian because I ride bikes, well, I don't really have a problem with that either.

My missus has never been called a lesbian to her face and she rides. When she was more serious about bikes most of our female biker friends were pretty hot. Maybe its just a modern thing. She thinks biking women have more important things to worry about than whether some random thinks they are gay.

According to her the 2 most annoying parts of her biking life were 1) when she got stopped in Oz pillioning a bloke and the cop thought she was a kid who was too young to be riding and 2) when we got pulled over on a group ride for lane splitting on a holiday weekend and the arrogant MOT guy asked who she was a pillion with? She went ballistic and had to be restrained from dragging him from his car despite the size mismatch. Got us off the ticket though.

Yet another pile of crap spouted by Mark. You obviously haven't met many female motorcyclists - or for that fact, females full stop - if that's your learned opinion. None of the above apply to me and I'm not a lesbian either.

I must confess I was wary of joining WIMA as I'd heard it was full of lesbians, but when I joined in 1998 I think there was only one that I knew of. That may well be different now, but back then there were heaps of boyfriends, husbands, brothers, friends, etc involved with the club and I really enjoyed it.

My brother is a tosser and he thinks like you - he told my mother he thought I was a lesbian because: I had short hair; I rode a motorcycle; I wore Doc Martens and I had tattoos. I was telling a mate in the pub and he slapped his forehead and said "My God, I have short hair, I ride a bike, I wear Doc Martens, I have tattoos - and on top of all that I love women. Hell, I've been a lesbian for years and never knew it!"

People of all shapes, sizes, sexual orientation and occupation ride bikes. They usually do it because they enjoy it. Saying all female motorcyclists are lesbians is like saying all guys called Mark are losers. Whoops, sorry, wrong comparison to use.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

We found WIMA to be pretty good and very supportive of female bikers. The only reason wifey is not still there is she has found another sport that takes most of her free time.

Someone's sexuality should be the last thing on your mind if out riding with them. Things like 'are they good/safe enough not to crash and take me out too' should be of more concern.

I wonder if you would have reacted in a less frothy fashion if someone else had made the same statement?

Mark was just commenting on what he's observed, and, for what it's worth, I have to agree with him, inasmuch as I don't know any heterosexual female motorcyclists who got onto two wheels of their own accord, as opposed to following in the footsteps of their family or partner.

Naturally, that's no kind of rule implying that there aren't any. It just so happens that... well, I don't personally know any.

Anyway, 'strue, motorcycles are a bit of a boy thing. Girls generally prefer horses.
