That said, While you are showing so much support for Pauls outrage, how many of the test ridden bikes did you buy and which shop are you getting your next bike from?

I test rode from 3 shops & if the bikes I rode were of reasonable value or did not have question marks over them I could have brought from anyone of them & would be happy to have done so .. Besides that one of the others who was also test riding is looking at buying brand new so potentionally 2 sales.

Along with that is my lack of knowledge of motors etc so relied quite heavily on those with more knowledge/experience than me I know this next bike will be lasting me a few yrs

Due to a chance conversation, I have found a bike privately and it happens to be very good value for money .. This was not the route I had intended to go, & if it was meant to be its meant to be ..
At least the test riding days are over .. however how many ppl are there (not specifically in our group) who regularly test ride with no intention of buying ? quite a few I would think .. esp after reading some of the posts

Edit: I see both sides of the story/arguement .. I understand where pauly is coming from, after all its his job .. and Jonno is into saving money .. there is no right & wrong or sides to stand on

Just to clarify. When I posted the above quote what I meant was to welcome Paul to KB, not to take any position on the above discussion.

Both sides of the argument are totally valid and I agree with both Paul and Yod.

It does appear that a growing number of bikers, as our numbers grow, are indeed using the bike shops as test beds with no intention of buying, this is wrong and rightfully pisses off the guys who have to deal with it and tidy up after them.

Jonno on the other hand could never be accused of such tactics and as he rightfully points out, he has never done so. Plus, he spent a good wad on hardware for the RF, god bless her.

So a big welcome to Paul and a speedy replacement for Yod, may there be many happy rides ahead.

I'd write more, but dinners ready

    well well

what has been going on here aye????

We have arguments, we have bins and we have new bikes, gear, etc etc being purchased.

I have missed out on alot....

Never mind though, I am back, course finished, just waiting for more money now lol....

    How we all doing anyway?

Like Al I can see the argument from both sides. I bought all my gear and the mrs gear from a local shop, the repeat custom has earned us 10% cash discount on all goods we buy.... Looking at what I could have bought the gear for off ebay makes me wanna flip....

It is getting very hard to justify spending hard earned money on items way over priced. If the local shops would support us a little more I wouldn't have issues supporting them but whent eh hand is forced what can ya do???

ok...i think we can safely put this issue to bed

Pauly and I have had a chat and it was a misunderstanding in the intent of the original post that started the whole thing rather than any form of implicit resentment and I'd like to thank you Paul, for making the effort to make contact and clear it up...after all....how else am I gonna get that B-King for half price!?
