    Red face RAM Mount kits?

Having just had a reasonably sub-optimal user experience on the RAM Mounts web site, I thought I'd ask the audience and find out if there is a New Zealand agent/distributor for these things.

I'm after a mount to hold the DVR for my helmet camera, which I need to have fitted before the FJR goes in a crate on Saturday 24 May. I guess it doesn't have to be a RAM, but needs to be durable, functional and not huckery. At this stage of proceedings I'm not going to get overly hung up on price. I need a solution by a deadline.

Any assistance would be appreciated warmly.

Cycletreads in Auck sell them. That does not help you much in Wellington though

I'd love to wax lyrical about RAM Solutions stem mounts, but I used one with my camera at a track day and the poor thing shook like a rat in the jaws of a terrier!
Otherwise they seem well made, it's the use of a conical piece of rubber that pushes down into the stem that is the products downfall.

My RAM mount has performed flawlessly holding my Escort Passport 8500 at an optimal angle much to the disappointment or Messrs Plod. Recommended.

would love one of these but $165 for a mount is too much money!

Great friendly service too, the stuff I ordered wasn't quite right and they happily replaced with something that fit much better.
    Highly recommended.

Oh, you may be able to help me...

I can either buy OEM Navman windscreen mount for $49 and cable tie it to the headstock again, or...

    $165 for a RAM Mount....

Any way to bring the price down?

Speaking as an ex-Navman R&D engineer, I can confidently assert that it's probably shit.

It's OK, I'd never want to work there again anyhow.

Hey, a RAM dealer on the forum!

There's a RAM mount for the Dynojet LCD Screen... I know, cause I've seen it in the pics on the RAM site... just can't find the part number for it! Do you know what it is, and what mounting options it comes with?

Well at least I think it was RAM
