good stuff. Actually, we went on a road I hadnt been on before and it had a series of about 100 corners that all dropped away over a crest. It was getting a little unnerving. Then just as I was getting used to it a truck showed up over one of those crests. Hmmmmmmmmm.

All good. Pity you couldnt make it. I gave the 9 a little workout for you. (just a little one though)

Monie and I had a short ride of our own out to Dogs place to feed his little kitties, where we got a very warm reception from the cute little fluff balls

Well bloody good arvo. Waited for Lance and a whole group of riders, around 10 or so, turned up. The lead rider, Alan, introduced himself and invited us to tag along. OK says us. And off we toodle. Nice bunch of "mature" riders, lots of grey hair.

Off through to Dannevirke via the scenic route with Gerble to the front showing the rest where to go. Stopped at Dannevirke for a natter, top up and a smoke. Then down the weber road and the back route towards Ormondville.

Stopped at an intersection to regroup and hmm why is the brand new Hyabusa smelling like Rotorua and steaming merrily away? Battery removed and left to settle down and limp to civilisation or organise a trailer.

At this point some decided to head on through Ormondville straight home while 5 of us headed of to Johns for a cuppa. Lost Barry and a few others about this time. Hope they made it home ok.

Bloody good selection of bikes.

sounds like an ineteresting pootle, as always, shame we couldnt make it

Yeah made it home ok. Wasn't sure which road we were looking for and everything was looking fairly dark thru the tinted visor by that time so headed home. Great day.

Got to the 100 ks sign to say the road works were finished so I began stretching the concours legs only to find they had put the signs up a little early and there was still heaps of pee metal all over the next corner. Needless to say I needed a change of undies when i got home

Did'nt know we were headed back our way until the other group of riders turned up and said we are going here, would you like to join us?
When the Busa had a fit it put a stall on the intended ride anyway mate, the Manawatu lot only got to the bottom of Te Uri hill where it was noticed that the battery on the Busa was going critical.
Then most of the usual suspects headed here for a coffee, still it would have been a bit of a scoot for ya I guess

For those that may be keen, this is what I'm thinking of doing at some stage (within the next 3 weeks). And yep, 1 day only - gotta keep the practice up...

I could be up for this ,once you get a date sorted etc

Most ive done in a day is 850kms on the katana (with one hell of a soar backside i must admit tho)
