Eh, all good. I'm not a feminist, not a man hater, but yet still found this a funny sort of an idea. Not so much the whole thing, but some of the specific ideas I could relate to my guy friends who do boast, or do pay extra for brands - that sort of thing.
Let's face it, if I was a man hater, why would I be on this site? And come on, in all fairness, someone else posted up a link to that Dick Masterson or whatever his name is, the really anti-female guy, and I remember posts saying it was funny I'm sure where other girls found his views incredibly insultive.
It's all in the sense people take it. I'm sorry you found it bitter, I didn't post it up thinking it'd come across as so because to me, the message was a funny one. I can see why it's not funny now to some guys here, but I hear jokes all the time that take the piss out of girls (and me specifically frequently) and I don't find that offensive because I know it's not the view of the teller and it is meant purely as a joke which is how I meant this.
Men and women will always make jibes at each other... But it's not always serious.

Really? There must be something that causes you to have a feminist view, even if just to a small extent..? I think that to an extent all women have feminist streaks in them... If it weren't for feminist views you probably wouldn't be able to vote today among other things.
I'm not saying that I'm a hard out feminist, but I think I definitely have a feminist streak when it comes to certain issues...

Hmm, good point, you're probably right on the feminist view thing. Mine is not a strong one, which is why I thought this more of a pisstake than an attack really.
I mean, I'm looking at it from the view of a girl who's been attending a girls' only high school for the past four years and is in her fifth, and I was in the hostel of the school for the first three (so lots of jokes where men are the punchline, and lots of girls crying over their supposed broken hearts), but I am friends with many more guys than girls. I am also comparing what she says, not to guys the age here, but to my own age - 16 to 18 or 20, the ones who are trying to be impressive, showing off for girls.
Make a comparision of this to something like the Killer Beez... I could see them boasting to the TV about it IF it were something new. Women have dealt with it since forever so it's not something special, but were it to happen magically overnight, you might think that the younger generation might make it something to boast about.
But that's my thinking still.

That is one of the poorest-written pieces of persuasive writing I have ever read. It is completely littered with almost every type useless and glaringly obvious persuasion technique as to be laughable. Too bad the writer couldn't back up even ONE of the pieces of opinion that they mistakenly present as fact. Good grief.
If opinion is going to be voiced strongly, it should at least have some grounding in fact or logic, or else it's just a sad revelation revealing only what some poor crooked soul believes. Poor thing.
Yes it would be funny if it were not so tragic.
