    Keeway Super Shadow 250

Has anyone taken one for a test ride?
Am looking at buying one.. brand new for $4k ride away price.
Bike shop owner is throwing in the ORC for free as its a cash sale.
Anything about these would be helpful and appreaciated

Imitation of the yammy just buy one of those second hand for 4000 and you'll be better off.

I'd rather get a used Virago than a new Keeway.

Have you considered a used Hyosung Aquilla? (never thought I'd suggest a Hyosung but when compared to Keeway.....)

Build quality and lack of warranty back up reputation. i.e. If a bit of the frame falls apart will the supplier be able to get it fixed? The shop may well be willing but if the manufacturer doesn't feel the need to come to the warranty party you could be left with $4,000 worth of scrap metal.

Manufactured by Keeway / Benelli, imported & disturbed by Triumph Motorcycles NZ Ltd.

The bike im looking at is coming from the same people. Was thinking with a name like Benelli or Triumph behind it, it would be a good bike.

    Guess this isnt true???

    A Dredge

    mmmm, Keeway Super Shadow 250........Crap????
35,000 on the clock over the past 30 months.
one chain, one set of tyres, new fork seals at 30k, one speedo cable.
No rust anywhere, ( garaged at all times)
Done Brass monkey and most of the south island rallys.
How does this compare to any other 250.
I have been waiting for things to fall off....dont happen
    Waiting for the rust....nope...
The throttle setting I use is wide open ....I, not easy on machinery....
    Fun factor....10
    fuel ecconomy...10
    ease of maintenance....10
Cost of parts.....dont really know, have not needed anything other than service parts
Out of 10 for a 250?...I have to say 10.
    Recommendation? Yup good bike...
My other ride is an XS1100 yammy, it gives me more trouble than this Keeway....

Now I loved reading that! I absolutely loved mine when I had it, and did 19,000km all over the North Island on it first 6 months I was riding. Never missed a beat, and I want to buy one again to tour the full south on again one day too. Brought mine new, and got a lot of fun out of it (did blow the head gasket through when I traded it in without realising - sorry Crasher!)

Now look you two - don't go posting factual stuff like the above on KB. You'll end up banned for a month.

Side note - to be fair to the old XS1100, was it not manufactured many decades back?

as a mechanic I really recommend against these things, parts are crap quality and a pain to get. they get run down fast if not garaged. save yourself the hassle and buy a Yamaha.
