Right - update.

We left phone numbers with the dairy and asked them to call if they found it. They rang the land line last night (while we were at the vet) to say they heard meowing in the garden, but couldn't find the other cat (this is number one above, the black and white one).

They didn't bother to call my cellphone, so I had no idea until I called in on the way home to ask if they had heard anything. They put some milk out last night, but didn't hear anything this morning.

JUST (like 3 minutes ago) had a call from the driver. Number one has turned up back at his place (they had been living in the bush next to his driveway, behind his fence). The conversation went thus: (M is me, G is guy)

M: Hello
G: Umm, hi. You were looking after a black cat yesterday and looking for a black and white one which went to the dairy?
M: Yeah.
G: Well, this morning it turned up outside my house again, it seems fine. How is the black one?
M: Fine. We had her checked out with the vet, she checked out OK
G: What are you doing with it?
M: Probably keeping it
G: Do you want another one?
M: What will you do with it otherwise?
G: Well, I've got three adult neutered male cats......
M: OK, we'll come and get it
G: It can't be today, because i have to take some fence palings down to get to it.
M: OK, we'll be there tomorrow night. Just after 6pm.

So, it looks like we've gone from zero cats to two of them in less than 2 days.

Yeah, the one we have was meowing last night when we left it alone. Hopefully, this will solve that problem.
