You'll enjoy it for sure, just think about what you want the bike to do for you, if it's short distances only then a motard would be a heap of fun, but not out on the open road i'd expect, I think it would get old pretty fast.
Horses for courses and all that...

Yea has been hard trying to consider all those things thats why im going to take it out for a good couple of hours and try to see how it feels when i have a soar arse and wether it does get old fast as you said (which i know i quite
often get taken in by the whole "its a new bike/its so great " feeling and make impulse decisions etc)

thought it had a hard seat wen i was on it in the
dealership, but if i do get it (chances are fairly high,as im fairly set in my way) then i will be looking at options with keeping the katana for longer rides, sounds like people are saying it really needed to be a 600cc engine.

Yeah a XT660x might be a better bet, I mean it's a Yamaha after all....... But yeah, 400 is gonna be pretty low on get up and go out on the open road.

yea looked at them on trade me ,Thier was a bloody nice one on their about a week ago with twin high rise pipes etc and they go for the round about rice of the drz400 new so that could be an option as i would like a bike with a bit of get up and go to it.They seem like a very quick bike tho apparently

Will have to ask PT's about an xtx then ,

Yea the more i look/read about the xtx's the more i think they would be a better suit for me actually. Will still test ride this DRZ tho cause it might be all i need ,but im going to see about an xtx to test ride today aswell i think.

Dude! You bought a Harley!! Get stuck into it, not as stylish as the XTZ but would eat it alive powerwise, certainly be an individual type choice

Indeed, the really limiting thing about them though is they are freakin' tiny! The only thing I don't like about the looks is the dual pipes, biff em I reckon...
