    Arrow important

Our club secretary Shirley is out of action for a couple of days. This means that entries and other things are not going to be processed. It also seems that our fax machine is having a wee lie down. I would suggest that anyone trying to fax an entry, just pop it into the snail mail as there is still plenty time to get the entry in. Large apologies for any inconvenience. Any questions can still go through the admin@vic... or race@vic... e-mail addresses, and we will do our best to answer.
The planned race format is the full track and 2x6 lap races. As usual this is subject to change depending on circumstances on the day. Please pray or make sacrifices to your preferred Deity, for sunny dry weather.

Am I the only one that might show up without extra rims with wet tires? Or should I consider investing in an extra set of rims for wets as a noob racer? Or maybe just crank up those tirewarmers extra hot!

    What does people normally do?

How likley is it that a 400 will qualify for F3?

That is if that said 400 has to qualify against pro twins AND F3 just to make the race?

    or am i just paranoid?

I don't recall anyone 'not' qualifying for F3 in last year's winter series.

I recall a little blue 400 getting 6th in one last year.

    You should be sweet.

Posing the question is fair mate. The truth is we just don't know until the day. The reality is that if we get heaps and heaps of entries into the combined F3/Protwin race we will have to look at a solution for the season. Would be a shame to see the death of 400's in F3. Might have to give protwins their own race if the numbers justify it, but without being able to cross-enter into F3. Just thinking out loud there so don't anyone go getting too exercised over the possibility. Geezers like me might have to find some space in Clubmans or Pre-89? It's a bastard that this racing lark is getting popular.

Probably true Deano. But there were some meetings where if there wasn't some attrition through breakdown, there would have been non-qualifiers. The 400's can compete in the right hands, but you have to be the first to admit that the 650's are easier to punt quickly than the 400's for most riders?

had a good talk with derek going forward and he is keen to do the whole series. he seems to have found his feet again and now feels he can put a really good effort into it.

i had a job offer up in auckland for a lot more dosh but driving to the shore from papakura every morning didn't appeal to me. my company made a very generous counter offer so i stayed in wellie. it was quite disruptive for derek and i but i think we've sort of settled down a little and can concentrate more on racing.

derek has even agreed to write race reports for our web site so it will be very interesting. no plans to upgrade to a new bike yet and as much as i hate to say it, that new honda thou is doing extremely well.

maybe up in auckland on queens birthday if we can squirm out of doing more work on that weekend. i'll try and spend some time in hamilton with my sis and family so i'll give you a call then.

    cheers

    richard
