Yea on second thought i might put the SD higher up on the list ,especially at this price (Although id get the black - http://www.thunderbike.co.nz/used-bikes/superduke.htm ) Dont think id want to shell out for the R' version tho even with all its extras
Or maybe this ? http://www.motorcycletrader.co.nz/Us...d=119E66DAB3E8
Have to admit i do have a soft spot for street tripples, never ridden one.......yet![]()

Yeah the one at AFC is black, looks a bit nicer I reckon, I understand the "R" is good value for all the higher spec gear you get for the extra coin but they are hard riding on the road, the basic model be a better compromise all round. Wait till you ride one mate, awesome!
Will try get into AFC today and see if i can get a ride on one ,The DRZSM felt like it would tempt me alot to do wheelies alot just because it felt so much more "right" on it lol.
So the SD i gather is quite the torgue machine by reading the forums etc cant wait to ride something with decent suspensionand USD's
(not sure how that will feel ) im kinda wondering wether ill be truely be able to test it because ill be spending most of the time getting used to all the techno gadgets and stuff on it

I think one of the most alluring points about a motard is you can have a shit load of fun on them without have to do warp speed, this is a trait the SuperDuke possesses too.
Yea im not counting out the xtx as the price is almost half of what a SD is ,and with the extra money i can maybe put ohlins front and rear on the xtx and have a pretty adjustable setup which id like, and its probly going to be a more useable bike for me.
i really do like that high rise scorpian on the xtx tho ,really stands out !and i quite often see them with PP2CT'S
on so that sounds promiseing for tyre options etc.
Yea thats really what im after to be honest ,just something i dont need to hit top speed in to get me jollies lol gone off that now(and want to keep my licence clean for a fair bit longer
Plus my kat is WAY to heavy of a bike for me ,really is a task to get it around the chicanes and windy roads .Their is the other option of sticking a bandit 1200 motor into it (straight swap in apparently)

There is another bike you could consider and that's the Triumph Street Triple as opposed to the Speed Triple.
Yea looked at them actually arent they only 15k brandnew on the road ? or something close to it.Have heard some bad reviews on them tho about their non adjustable suspension front and rearother than that i really like the styling and 3 cylinder setup of them . i always thought it wouldnt matter me because im only light and im not exactly going to be trackdaying on anything, suppose if i got one second hand maybe i could put ohlins or something similar on it if need be ae.Another one is the GSR which a friend recently brought and reckons they are a great bike for the twisties and that thing handles like a 250,feels a bit small thats my only problem with it.

Sarah and I are possibly going to Opunake to see Kerry this weekend. I may get some work done on my bike and pillion Sarah back as she'll leave hers with Kerry for it's big service. Could be an adventure? Will confirm later.
So Spankme has upgraded the site to the latest version and with that comes the ability to have groups, so:
feel free to join the Manawatu Riders group, i thought it may be a useful tool for keeping ourselves organised for rides, etc. (This remains to be seen but you gotta have a crack....)
Obviously it isn't restricted to JUST those of us (lucky enough?) to be in the manawatu - it's for all the usual suspects and anyone else who lurks in the general area and would like to join in with our madness and mayhem
cheers

Oh i was under the assumption that no Manawatu Dealers had a demo DRZSMAlthough Whitelocks were only happy to sell me one brandnew and are still trying lol)
This was reluctantly leant to me by a family friend (with much convinceing)![]()
Are ya tempted on trying out one yourself eh!
Although i was tempted to try out thee drz400e in GW MotorCycles in Feilding apparently that has a higher output than the sm .
