Um a thought though is if anyone else is keen to come and are learners or keen for learner pace, then we would be keen to have everyone along with maybe a slower group and a faster group but still stick together overall, usually works out that way anyway!

Pretty much we'd hate to leave you behind. So it'd be cool as if ya know anyone who'd be keen to do their first open road with ya too? I don't mind leading at a slower pace at all, but as long as it's fine to head off in front maybe too for a bit. Lol now I feel like a dick hijacking your thread haha!

    So :

This Friday 23rd May, time will be weather dependant but prob aim about 10am-11am, head out west to do SH16 maybe Woodcocks rd too. Back in time for the chiller at Strata. Calling ALL people who just wanna get some open riding done. Not a "Learner friendly ride" specifically, but various levels are all welcome in terms of splitting the group up maybe. Sound like fun to anyone?

    Sounds ok Banzai?

EDIT : Check out the thread in the smc forum re the ride.
Hey I'm welcome for most ppl to go off topic lol

I've been to motorway 3times (Under 100kmh) but never done openroads.

If we leave at lunch time, when we will be back? I have to be back at about 3pm...

As in HAVE to be back BY 3pm? Or kinda maybe have to start to maybe be near Auckland by around about 3pm-ish or later?

Umm, leaving at 12 we should be able to be back between 3 and 4 I'd say at the latest. What do you reckon Shaun? How long's SH16 take? 3 Hours MAX from Uni yeah?

Yeah I think from Shell it's only say 45mins up and down.

Banzai - If we are running short of time I will be fine to head back down SH1 back into town with you. Whatever suits you. So you just need to be back around 3?

Google maps says 3hours to go from campus up 16 to Wellsford and back down 16 again. If we come back down sh1 instead then we can save 20mins.

Dont risk it, till you've got low speed riding down theres no point trying to go fast, especially if you have time constraints.

Yeah that sounds about right. We'd be back by 4 easy, if not by 3. What ya got on Banzai?

What's up with that shit mate? I remember you giving me stick when I posted a similar thread recently. Something about going and spanking the monkey... and get over it.

Apparently the Ginge and his mates now have LTSA authenticated speedos hooked up to their gearboxes which they use to follow speeding bikers and match their speed (rather than a dedectable radar). Guy was saying 4 bikers were booked this way last week on 16.

    he can still get fucked!

hopefully the drag of his gaydar will slow his shitty thing down to a speed the FXR150 can outrun.

otherwise i may have to give up riding north again

You just gotta keep your speed above 200kph - then coppers aren't supposed to be able to pursue you.
