Question So, what is your excuse?

...for spending hours upon hours on KiwiBiker during work hours.

I've caught myself wondering, how so many people can be so active on a forum which for 99.99% of the population must be considered work-unrelated.
    So, what is it?

My own excuse: Being a PhD student means my work is very flexible - it's my project, I set the deadlines, etc. Furthermore, I am at an engineering department so there's computers just about everywhere. Also, working with research there's a lot of 'Change a parameter, run the process again (wait 2 hours)' and 'Run a simulation (wait 10 minutes), change a parameter, run the simulation again (wait another 10 minutes)'... that and the fact that I have an addiction to procrastination (or pissing the time away as it might be).
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

I managed to break myself this morning...

I quite often have no work to do and to fill in this time I do some web surfing.
Of course being a network admin has some advantages

I only come on here as a break between doing more important things at work. its a break that allows me to freshen up mentally to tackle the next task.

Plus I'm addicted and its better than spending all day on a dating service

It's better than taking an entire "mental health" day once a week

    Yeah, me too.

But you know you could be doing something else productive during that time, don't you?

It is to get a life during a work environment, at the expense of theft of time and bandwidth.
