I knew I should have watched it (I taped it) before I logged in today.... But hey that is great news for Dixon and a huge payday I see.

He doesn't get to keep all of the prize-money.

Many years ago Scott needed serious financial backing to get a start in the off-shore racing circuits. So a group of NZ businessmen put up the money and essentially financed him into it. They did it on the basis that if he ever started to win, they would be entitled to a share of his future winnings.

Looks like they made a very good decision to back Scott!

It's great isn't it. He has always been a road track man and hates the ovals. When INDY does road circuits he's almost always been in the top three and this year with the amalgamation with C.A.R.T. there's going to be more road circuits so rockon for the championship. Last year to lose the championship on the last corner of the last lap of the last race would be enough to make you hang up yer teddy bear.

I bet he's still disappointed too ... he has only ever wanted to be a Formula One driver. He had one unsuccessful test with Williams and now I think he's probably regarded as "too old". I'm sure he's earning a sh*t load more munny than a middle-of-the-pack F1 driver.

Im with Dooly, the company that was set up to back him has been well and truly wound up and all the share holders paid out, however I think you will find that the 3 mill goes to the team and then Dixon will get a percentage share of that.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

Truly well deserved...He's put everything into his career and I applaud him for that. It's taken a lot of work to overcome his shyness, but now he's just a top man.
He SHOULD win the Sportsman of the Year title! After all, it's the biggest single sporting event in the world.

3 point lead for Hammie I think, when Kimi crashed into the back of that McLaren I switched it off.
Hope Dixon can put the championship to bed this year.
