    Shoei XR1000 night-time visor shootout

    Sidewinder:
Ello all, sidewinder is pro and here we go!

well myself i have the dark smoke tinted visor for my shoei xr1000.
I find if there is light you can see with it at night time but only were your head lights are pointing lol. when i put carvers orange visor on at night time it made me feel alot more warmer and comfortable. you could see a bit more than just your head light on the road and it made the lights of on coming cars look very dull and not blinding but you could still see them so you wouldnt crash into them lol, but on my black visor the on coming car still blind you abit.
but i must say if you want to look cool get a black visor and its fine in the day time but not the best if you plains to go really hard at night!
And any tinted visor is good in the rain in day time because it cancels out the glare from the sun on the water on the road.

love from sidewinder, ps remember sidewinder is pro

    Carver:

Well, after trying the black smoke visor after using my active orange, i found that my average speed dropped down to 130kph, which lets face it, is pathetic.
it made everything have a dark blue hue, and made it difficult to see the road ahead, and pick out the details.
once back with the orange, i was pushing my usual 150-170kph speeds, and my riding was on a par with my daytime riding, with no moments, and good lean angles.
i did find that downhill cornering at 180kph towards hamilton was still tricky though
the orange makes everything appear brighter, but takes the edge of oncoming lights.

we tested the visors on the raglan road at 8pm~

And whoever said kiwi's were thick? Keep up the good work lads. I'm looking forward to your next product test. As a suggestion, how about finding out which disk locks snap when you rev the tits out your bike and dump the clutch?

Come hang out with the auckland crew. They may not be cool, but all ride CBRs (superior stunt bikes)

Oh boo hoo, 'twas only a suggestion. I don't have the cahunas to perform the testing you're on about so that's why I rely on the Mormon few.

You have to go off the side of a cliff first.

The local doughnut munchers must love you boys.

I've ridden at night with the tinted visor (because I forgot the spare clear visor) but the country riding is a pig.... can't see anything and all you get is bugs in the face in summer and frozen in winter.

Yeah, I like a clear visor and sunnies. At least you can take them off at night.
