So there you have it. Kawasaki could not improve over Honda in 16 years. Nice one kawasaki.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

You generally get what you pay for. Pay more, get more. How much would you have to pay for a NEW CBR250? The Honda is a nice bike, but you have to take value for money into account. How much was a CBR250RR new in 1992? How much is that today? ($5000 in 1992 = $7040 in 2008)

I wonder if emissions come into it at all. Also I wonder why they didn't put fuel injection into the new 250 ninja.

What? Didn't they make this though? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_Ninja_ZX-2R I don't think the point of the Ninja 250R was to be a balls to the wall sport bike.

Top speed of 160KPH+ and 30KPL, call me a wimp, but I'll take a new 250R over an old MC22.

That said, they're built for different tasks and if Honda were to suddenly restart production on the MC22's I'd be first in line.

Compare apples with apples, what are the ratings for the 08 Honda.

The 92 bikes are pretty similar

because the only thing that makes improvement is outright power?

what about style? comfort? the chick draw factor? Bet it is alot easier to get laid pulling up on a 08 ninja than a crappy 20 yr old honda.

Nearly all men can stand adversity and hard time, but if you want to test a mans true character, give him power....

That's because the engine in the 250R is the engine from the old GPX which hadn't been improved for 20 years. Plus it's a parallel twin rather than an inline 4. All they did was gloss up an old bike. And it hasn't helped bring down the prices of the old 250's. Here's hoping a law change might if that ever happens.

My old MC22 got a fair bit of attention. Even my VFR last year got people at my school thinking it was a brand new bike. The thing is most bike illiterate girls aren't going to know the MC22 is 15 years older than a 250R, they're going to just see it as a sportsbike. Not that I've had any help getting chicks by having a bike, they're all into cars...

Emissions, could of had an effect, but they had 16 years to figure that one out.

If it looks like a sports bike, it will be classified as a sports bike.
If it is not a sports bike, yet looks like one, its a poser's bike.

mc22 tops out at 200 clicks. Although 30km/l is over double what mine gets. but only fags and girls care about efficacy.

The new ninja is very comparable to the mc22. They both have the same power and weight. number of cylinders doesn't come into it.

Unlike some people (i.e., you) i bought my bike to ride it, not to be a poser. If you have to rely on possessions to get you woman, you should take a long hard look in the mirror and ask youself "why am i so gay?"

Never said it was a faster bike or not.

Just said on paper kawasaki cant improve on what they (as well as honda) made 16 years ago.

Also, my mc22 has no problems keeping up with most riders on larger bikes, just ask ducati hard (on a 996 or was it 999?) who gave him the lean round the coro that one time

As you say, I'm no fag, I don't care about efficacy. However, I DO care about efficiency, and getting 500KMs from a 18L tank is very appealing to me. I'd rather save the gas money I don't spend for my next big bike ;D!

I mean come on, how often do you actually ride above 140kph?
Unless you're a scratchin' GOD you wont be getting your knee down on any 70kph+ corners on a 250, so what's the big deal over top-end?

    0 - 100KPH
    Ninja 250R: 5.75 seconds
    MC22: 5.2 +- seconds
    '72 CB175: - bike incapable of 100kph

I wonder if the Kawasaki design team had the goal of improving over the CBR250RR in the first place - I think not.

Truth be told Scott, if Kawasaki wanted to make a new ZX2R, it'd would piss like a fucking horse all over the CBR. Of course it'd cost more than an RS250, and with technology the way it is these days, i'd almost hazard a guess and say that a brand new full spec 250 sports aka 'like a race bike' bike would be faster than an RS250 anyway.

What you need to realise is that the Ninja 250R is a re-hash on the GPX250 which has been around 20 years. It would appear that it is a grand improvement on that particular bike, the one would think it is to replace or do better than.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
