Exclamation Your own forum for Social Group owners

Social Group owners can now have their own public/private forum and be that forums moderator.

Here is how it is setup.

I have created a new category (like GBR, off topic) called "Social Group forums" (SGf) at the bottom of the forum page.

SG (Social Group) owners who have 60 members will be able to create their own forum under SGf from their SG.

You will be the moderator of that forum and you can request to the Admins to have other members of your SG added as mods to your forum.

SG's that have group type set to "moderated" or "invite only" will have their forum and everything in it visible only to the SG members, Senior Mods and Admins. Mods and other users will not even see the forum listed in the SGf cat. These SG forums will be known as private.

SG's with the group type of public that create a forum must follow the site rules. These will be visible to everyone, but can only be posted in by that SGs members and senior members.

Private SG forums will follow the /b/ rules. /b/ officially have a "no rules" policy, save for a ban on certain illegal content, such as child pornography. This "no rules" policy applies to Admin and Senior Mod actions as well, meaning that users may have their threads/posts deleted at any time, for any reason, including none.

Once a Private SG forums is created, the SG may not then be changed to public without first removing all threads that that don't conform to site rules.

This will eventually replace the Clubs forums. So if you have a forum in Clubs, you need to get your Social Group forum started and I will move all your threads over. The Clubs forums will be removed by the end of the year regardless.

So Club 250 will become a Open Social group then i presume.

But why have it so as a public group where only members may post but all view? i am curious, it seems like an extra, possibly unneccesary, step for those who wish to post about their experiences with the "Hyosung 250" to find their way through

Club 250 is not Hyosung 250 exclusive...

    Is for any 250cc motorbike......

Now the Social Group "HyoBags United", now that falls under the category for Hyosungs only, and would be subject to the posting above.....

If most SG owners prefer to have their public forums open to anyone to post, then thats what I'll set it to do.

If thats what you want, then just get your 60 members and I'll just move your forum over.

    That was Lotpihgad...

Thankfully there is a new one, but really it's only for the veterans of the old thread.

That's why I started this one, not that anyone else considers themselves one... yet....

    Social groups.
The "send group email" setup. Will this only send to those members who have made their email addresses visible?

Is there an option to send a bulk mail to the PM address instead?

While I understand the need for a group member minimum, perhaps 60 members is a bit high? At least for now? Particularly as NO social groups (at least ones I can see) have 60 members at present (the highest is 46).

It's totally do-able though, if you have 60 people on your buddy list and they all joined then you'd have your own forum. I don't think it should be made too easy though, imagine having 20 different forums going on with mostly the same people all talking the same shit in all of them....
