I used it today, and it does work great!
Sorry - Chris has some new staff and if that is what they have told you it is incorrect or there has been a misunderstanding.

That is just a vent. The Pinlock visor system is a visor with an inner liner that is held in place with - wait for it - 'pins'.

It is easily the best solution for fogging - but is also the most costly. Google it.

I'll have a word about the staff shortly.

This is getting more complicated as time goes on... I kinda wondered about, (drum roll please...) the PINS? I always thought that black thingy that cracks the visor open was a vent...
    Thanks though...

Ummmm... you can get clear Shoei visors with or without pins. I bought my Shoei in Melbourne and interestingly, they didn't stock pinlock visors. If your visor hasn't got fixing pins, help is at hand in the shape of a DIY kit which allows you to convert a non-pin visor: jig for drilling, pins and the insert. Cheaper than getting a complete pinlock visor by a country mile. Have a look here: http://www.racevisors.co.uk/category...-pinlock-shoei. You want the CX 1-V for an XR1000.

I'm a newbie here and ride a ZX50, but I can fog my whole house with no problem. My poor AC-11 visor was no match for this hot head.

After riding around with a gap for the past 2 months I received my replacement HJC pinlock visor and insert from the guys at ibike.com

It's INCREDIBLE!, why doesn't every helmet in the world have one.

I couldn't recommend them enough, and will be showing it of at work. Sadly they're not imported to NZ for HJC, but the guys at ibike were fantastic. I say buy up now before our dollar drops.
