I did it today, just before I bought my new bike.

    I'm O+

It was my 10th time so they gave me a bag with a gift.

I do it coz it makes me feel like a better person and somehow believe it may erase some of the bad I've done in the past.

    Every drop counts.

Like donor was saying: Blood - just give it !

    Make sure you watch Blade.

    Snap. Fucking madness.
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

A mate had his vein missed, they wiggled around and got it... he was bruised for well over a month Since then, its been my only request that they hit the vein please. This one guy I had... sticks the needle in... says "Oops", I'm like, WHAT... "just joking" comes the reply... Although he did let me hold the packet of blood afterwards... that was cool, because it was still at body temp.

Have to be 16 if I remember correctly, and be over 55kg ish.

I would be into the teens now, of donations, tried to donate as soon as possible, and was calculating on 4 per year, to reach 100 donations asap... work has put paid to this. Never seem to get the time to track down a centre, so I go to the one close to home when it comes round... only twice a year dammit.

I used to donate every chance I got ... often there are blood clinics in offices in wellington city ... but they stopped me giving blood a 11 years ago now. Apparently if you have a disease they don't know the cause of (I have multiple sclerosis) they don't like you to donate ... oh well

Ah, no thanks, luv ... I hate beer. You can drink my share.

One of the messrs hellkat likes to drink lots of Guinness, so I keep optimistically waiting for medical science to discover that there is huge amounts of iron in semen, especially that of Guinness drinkers.

    Thumbs up

    Phantom!

I'm up to about 40-50 but doing plasma every two weeks helps boost the numbers.

Cheers to you all that head along and give so much, to all that don't...but can, hey once every three months too much to ask.

Maybe think of a riding mate sideswipped by a cage and your few mL's of blood could be that last bag they need to hang to save their life...is it still not worth the wee prick of pain?

    Safe riding
    Steve
