    Keep the ride simple!!!!!!
not to long....more petrol in the tank means less in the kitty and you also have more time to get money off the punters
Money on this ride is your object not the ride...............
and its the middle of winter.dont want the helicopter picking up people
    cheers
Good advice too I will know more once I have ridden the route next sat (in the waikato til fri)

have to play it by ear but might have to just read the footnotes as I have things to do in the daylight
Should only take a max of 3 hours if you limit fag breaks and you could always go for my little shortcut if you can't keep up again Lance

    Any news on Mowgli?

Suggest going straight out Tremaine Ave and turning left onto Stoney Creek Rd. Less turns and easier to control.
good plan. might actually do this.

Don't like the the gorge and wonder why the saddle road wasn'nt used (if the weathers ok all the bikes could regroup in the windmill carpark.
the saddle wasnt used because too many people dont like the road. The surface is very unpredictable and I will almost guarentee a crash of some description if we go that way. The gorge is the best route over to balance.

The right turn onto Ballance Bridge is hard to control.
it is a bit of an intersection.
I considered going out to woodville and then out to pihatua but that is really boring.

Second half of the route (after Pahiatua) seems all good. People need to be aware theres damp slippery patches of road even if it hasn't rained for a while.
    lets hope for the best.

It would definatly be better to avoid Saddle Road, it's a pain even in a car as to many people tend to stop theirs cars in the middle of the road to watch the wind mills.
And as some of you guys know by the way I rode on Sun, you need to make the track simple for us newbies

we are not doing the saddle end of story .. I hate that damn piece of road can never get a good flow on it & can change conditions quickly

regardless of experience everyone will be catered for .. some already know my thoughts on where in the group the newbie/novice riders will be and the special precautions that will be available to them .. that will be one of the major discussion points at the meeting on saturday so have a good think about it over the next few days

given the size of the 'pack', I imagine it will develop into a relatively slow ride anyway

    riding route on sat

Meeting at phil turnbull's so I can ride the route again 10.30am leaving

back to carmens for meeting regarding marshals etc on the day 1.00ish

will be riding regardless of weather as I am not free sunday

If you want to attend the meeting at carmen's & are not able to make the ride plz pm me or Oscarnz for the address

one of the pilots will be attending & need to discuss final destination as council will not allow chopper to land at the square .. this will be discussed sat but alternative railway land heaps of parking for the bikes & we can do a circuit of the square .. chopper will fly overhead as we do the final push into the city ..

Mowgli is doing fine... sore but fine... They put a rod in his leg and have said it'll be around 22 weeks of recovery so he won't be able to ride on the 28th but maybe he'll still be involved in some way.
