It seems to be a waste of time, you put someone on 'ignore' and someone else only goes and quotes the bugger....

None at the moment, a couple are close, but I occasionally enjoy reading their shit and it reminds me that I'm not quite as stupid as I thought I was, otherwise nobody here really pisses me off enough to bother going looking for the ignore function.

It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Although there have been times when I have been tempted to avail myself of this facility, I believe it would be largely pointless, as nong-lovers quoting the utterances of nongs would make nong utterances apparent again.

I didn't even know you could set people to ignore..
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

It is a handy function when you really know you can not help but respond to the purile, obnoxious, opinionated, idiotic, banal, trolling tripe that some people pass off as worthwhile contributions to a thread. Also, if you are being baited on the forum and Pm'd by said contributors, because you were foolish enough to respond, it allows some respite.

I have used it a couple of times with great sucess, and have never bothered to look at the posts marked "this post is hidden as the user is on your ignore list" or whatever it says warning on threads.

Currently none on my ignore list. I love reading the shit that I see posted on here, specially the stuff from the plonkers!
