Does anyone have any info on this helmet?
Givi H40.1 Integrale.
Full face with internal flip-up sunglasses/visor thingy.
It looks like a darned nice helmet, but searches here and several with Mr Google have drawn a blank.
It features in the latest 2008 catalogue that I have in front of me, but zilch on the Givi website.

I am picking up a new helmet this week. Anyone already got one and have any comments?
It is the Givi HPS 40.1 Integrale. Padding is super comfortable, it has a decent ratcheting buckle, and an internal sliding sunshade that actually has a reasonable level of tint.
At this stage I think the only New Zealand stockists are Motomail.

I am picking mine up on thursday next week. Having tried it on, the padding is very nice. It uses a memory foam that seems to fit snugly but very confortably. The internal sunshade is actualy dark enough to work, and the mechanism seems decent, allowing you to leave it in any position between fuly up and fully down. It has a buckle style closure with a section of about an inch long of ratchet for fine adjustment each time you put it on.
I have been told that at the moment, the only NZ Stockist is Motomail, but that may well change.
They are $549, and to me seem well worth it. I will let you know once I have been on some decent rides in it.
At the moment it appears that the only two colours avaiable here are the silver, and the matt black. I am getting the Matt Black.

Fantastic! I'll pop into Motomail and have a look. I've been looking at Raid 2's but this is looking appealing.
Do you know what the weight of it is? The flip-front helmets suffer from being heavier because of their pivot gear.

The features on the H40 seem identical to my Caberg. The internal sun visors work really well.

Well, I picked mine up yesterday, and wore it to and from night shift last night through the crappy rain. I am SUPER happy with my purchase. It is light. the marking says that my XL is 1195grams. Subjectively, I compared it to a friends Shoei XR1000 and the feel the same weight.. i.e. very light , but the Shoei claims to weigh 95 grams less.
I found it to be nice and quiet for me, but your perception/situation may vary. I have not treated the visor in any way as yet, and had no fogging (happy), and checking the tinted sunshade whilst on the motorway it seems like about the same level of tint as the tinted visor on my last helmet, so should deal with the sun just fine.
The padding is super comfortable, and I found the buckle easy to operate without having to remove my gloves (relatively bulky winter insulated ones).

Didn't see that one there. They do have the open face models, and I am sure they would be able to get you an x.01. It is an interesting looking helmet, but I prefer the look of the Airoh TR1 for that removable chinguard style helmet. I imagine that the fit and comfort of the GIVI is likely better though, having read reviews on the Airoh.
the 40.1 is up on their site now, but none of the other GIVI models (although I am pretty sure I saw some of their open faces in stock).

As you might has guessed, I have the Airoh TR1. IT's the coolest looking lid I have but a waffer thin shell. Which means lots of wind noise - my usual ear plugs fix that. My Caberg doesn't require earplugs. TR1 is Ideal for summer as it's very light and allows plenty of wind flow around your face & head. Not sure if I would want to crash test it though!
I might get a Givi X01 sometime as it looks like the perfect compromise between the Caberg and TR1 - should work both summer and winter. The Caberg can not be made to fog up and is warm and dry in the worse winter can throw at it.
