4.46 yod. You're not an insomniac are you? Get some sleep!

Well, I've nearly finished my bike now. I put the decals on the tank last night, so I just have to get down to work this morning and throw a couple of coats of clear on it. I'm still waiting for a side panel and a mirror, as the ones that they sent were wrong.
Not an experience I'm in a hurry to repeat, as I've been finding it more and more difficult to not lose my rag!
I wondered why the mechanic made a point of telling me he was able to install an indicator without removing the tank, until I had to remove it. He lost a rubber mount and obviously knew, however I located it in front of the airbox. They didn't replace the oil filter as requested, but here's the real goody. They installed a new horn to a bracket that's bent 90 degrees.
Anyway, rant over! I've just been telling myself "Hey, they didn't crash your bike".

Well did'nt go down to Castle point yesterday, on the way over to Palmy I had a couple of slippy slides on the frosty roads so thought considering all those sheltered areas on the way through to Masterton could be pretty dangerous we decided going back to the Actrix winter race series round be held at Manfeild would be the better thing to do. I must day it was quite and enjoyable day too, saw some interesting bikes, met some familiar faces and saw some entertaining racing, I particularly like watching Sam Smith race, he's a top racer that guy, particularly for some one so young, very fast!

So you'll be all set for the next track day then Ferris ? Had a bloody good day up taupo yesterday at the motoTT meet !
Small group, 75 in all three groups so was the perfect opportunity to get a bit of tuition !
Latched on to Adrian (one of the line coat lads) and he did two sessions with me in tow ! bloody brilliant i tell ya lol, started off nice and easy for a few laps to show me some lines and then he was off with me on his back wheel (most of the time, still had the odd hickup but had his 10 yr old kwaka under brakes and a lil bit of hp so by the end of it he couldn't shake me) He even had me lapping one or two guys ! Next thing will be getting some steel toes or learning to get the knee down lol
If it wasn't for the fact that i don't enjoy riding in torrential rain i would have stayed another night and shouted the man a beer !
Left home with a full on head cold and froze my arse off fri night getting there but well worth every sneeze in my helmet getting home last night ! Slept bloody well too i can tell ya ! (what was the final score in the rugby by the way lol)
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Mmmm sounds good but I'm not insured for track days, so crash fear would have me riding like a Nana. I hope you never sell that helmet Bill!

Well my tank is now painted and baked but I'll leave it till this afternoon before I fit it up.

Yeah was a bit of that yesterday, as i'm suppose to notify the insurers and get the ok but it was a short notice one this one and i still aint heard back since emailing them tuesday lol rrrrrr ! Who ya with ? have ya queried them with regard to track days ? Lot of them class them as training days and allow it !
Thinking Track bike myself for the future, something cheap, going through the motions of joining the vic club and mmmm the trumps a bit too much of an investment to be uninsured for meetings
Helmet will be treasured forever lol not !!! Need to buy a new hard unit for it now friggin thing keeps clapping out and i'm forever having to test it as i go !

I'm insured with NAC, but knew I was giving up track day cover to save $300 in premiums from my last insurer. It wasn't really a concern, as the last time I was on a race track was in 1983 with an EH Holden S/W and I wasn't racing.
