Vmcc virgin racer rnd 2
Be patient with me this is not only my first race report but also myfirst thread. I can't help it I'm just so excited to make it to the end of the race day in one piece.
Woke up at 6:30am shook my 11 yr old to wake him and we both decided at that moment it's just is not worth it. We found the garage we hired for the day and he put on warmers and plugged in only 2 our utter discust the power went off in 5 minutes. Just as well I bought my works small generator, but does anyone agree we should all get either a refund or a free day hire when they have this sorted. Not only that but I was told it had running water which I did'nt need however the taps were dry. Not when I could have got a free covered area WITH POWER . DAMMMM FOOOOOLS
Qualifing clumans B: Only been here once before on a road legal r1 with rd tyres a year ago and not sure what to expect. Found out pretty soon I was not bad passing most of the field to try and get a clear run or two and thought I did,only to find out I only got 4th on he grid with a 1:21.3 beaten by a tz 250(well done) and I thought I ringed the nuts out of it.
Race 1: First start ever and did not want to flip bike as on tv...lights out and goooo , good power to back wheel and front up 6" soon in front only to have a 998 #65 fly into the lead from 6th and beat eveyone to first corner by miles. Stuck in 2nd for 2laps finding it hard to take the duke as he was fast out of the corners but I found a weakness he was an early breaker and tried to pass twice last corner b4 front straight but was closed off very close to coming off. managed to pass on inside to turn one and never looked back thinking he was about to pass me on every corner I stuck my head down and flew. personal best of 1:17.08 surprised the heck out of me and a gap of 6.5sec to 2n. both of us club B
Race 2: Not sure how much gass to put in so decided on 6 ltres to be sure. The rest went in the generator DAMMMM GARAGES FIX IT MANFIELD>>> Start similar to race one however the duke got a flier and easily had a 20 metre gap on me . 3 laps in he had got a 5 sec gap on me almost a whole straiht and I had no answer, nice one Johan... Knowing I lacked exit power my only chance was late breaking (extreme) In one lap manged to catch up and pass on the inside of turn 1 . Not after locking up front wheel going in to last corner b4 back sraight ( wheel corragating for 50 meters) stuck head down and kept up the late breaking laping most of the field and one bike twice..(nice going U guys U all had great lines, just build your faith in your tyres alsome job...) finished race 1st with a personal best of 1:16 shocked meeeee. Won by 13 sec not bad for club B sorry but I did not know where I fitted in .Would have loved to wear orange sash but they run out, would have looked cool. Will wear one next tim maybe
Bike specs: Standard 04 r1 with race tyres, NO new cans no power com no race tech shocks only bent front forks that do'nt go down with out a shuv and then stay down until you pull them back up..hence I believe the reseason for the lock ups...... Never blame the gear just ride the gutts out of it.
