A most enjoyable ride I must say.

Got about 1km from home though and the bike started running on 2 cylinders.

Turns out the fuel hose had a kink in it and it wasnt getting enough gas. Strangely enough it was the middle 2 cylinders not going, however the fuel line drops down between the 2nd and 3rd carbs and it was the 1st and 4th cylinders that were going. I dont know. Its fixed now thats all I care about.

Well the day started out cold and damp, as I was cleaning my teeth it was bucketing down - it didn't last long though. So on went all the merino underwear and then all the outer ewear. Hubby went out to start the bikes and mine was fine but his wouldn't - flat battery. So he kindly told me to take the car and he would ride my bike - what a trouper. We arrived at the Peg around 9:30am. Mikhail was the first to arrive, and then one by one more people started to arrive. I am most impressed by the turnout considering the weather. Luckily the weather did get better the further north we went. The Greta Tavern offerred us warm hospitality, good food and drink and a lovely fire. We then made our way through to scargill, waikari and the weka pass back throiugh to CHCH. The weather worsening the closer we got to CHCH. It was windy, wet and freezing. We got to the Heli pad and was able to hand over $400 - fantastic. We got to check out the helicopters and I took some great photos which I will post up.
All in all a good turnout, some good money raised and some new people met.

MMmmmm that was great, killed two birds with one stone it were, a couple of parts collected for Porject RD400 at Greta Vally, and a nice ride int he wet for this Helicopter thing.

They do do good, Me father in law was dragged out of a car wreck out castle hill some years back, when the driver of the car decied not to turn the wheel on a corner... lucky they were when the Westpac bumble bee took em to the Hospital.

Anyhow just took a few pictures, and they are in my Webshots album.

Bloody good work to those that made it out!!!!!! (water is never that bad)

The kids were pleased when they recieved a couple of little chopers them selves.
The Kids were happy when I got home.

Good ride I like that bit through the Scargill valley be sweet on a good day.
Didn’t make it home from the Helli pad in one go, had to stop by some trees and Thaw out couldn’t feel me wee pinkeys anymore.
Good ride, good cause, good group of riders

I was really gutted when I woke up this morning and saw the weather rolling in.. (despite watching the news for weather reports - I hoped they would get it wrong and it would be blue skies!!).

I had been looking forward to this ride- but sadly I'm not a very confident wet weather rider, and didn't really want to see the WestPac Helicopter at work up close and personal!

I hope the next fund raiser or organised ride - the weather will behave .

Pleased everyone that attended had a safe ride and well done for the money raised!!

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day and may their arms be to short too scratch...

Yeah, cold and wet but a good ride.....and good to meet the Greta Valleys boys and others. Saw Mark heading back the way we had just come thru the Scargill area, nice to hear the Kat's engine getting a bit of a workout. Sorry I couldn't stay after arriving at Chopper HQ but had to work.
