Surely utility companies have very heavy audit logging around personal customer information queries.

Outing the guy to his wife isn't worth someone losing their job.

As tempting as it is to out the twunt (thank you, Vifferman) I'd restrict myself to pointing out to people that they can locate him by presenting ID at a Post Office and asking for information on that registration themselves.

Pretty shocking, really... I'm tempted to ring WMCC and complain!

Unfortuntely that particular rego and that vehicle for sale seem to be different and her is my receipt.

    Huh?

Not quite sure what you're on about, dude, unless it has something to do with me taking the piss regarding your recent (public) thread(s) about someone calling your employer and complaining about something you wrote on this forum?

Just for the record, I'd never pull a chickenshit stunt like that, anonymously or otherwise.

In terms of 'outing' people, I've got no ethical problem at all with this SUV driver's information being made public. What I don't want to see is people getting burned because they broke rules in a traceable fashion while doing so.

Publicly posting registration details that one gets via an employer's Motochek account and/or bothering someone after retrieving their personal information from a utility company's customer database are both excellent ways to get one's arse in hot water.

Utility companies?? Do you think I know someone who works for a power company? No, not even close. Google and other search engines are your friend. Privacy act doesn't cover search engines very well. Plus, in theory, the information is already in the public forum...

    My prediction.

If this goes to court the guy will get a lawyer, who will eat the Police for breakfast and the stupid judge will side with his lawyer mate and let him going saying "it was just a case of road rage"

    Been there, done that.

Going to be alot more of this sort of stuff happening. Developers, high flyers all losing the plot as their so called million dollar lifestyle goes down the toilet.
Emotions being transfered to the steering wheel, and driving skills will turn into an extension of major anquish and frustration. ie "If my life is gunna turn to shit, I'm passing it on to someone. That bike will do. Eat that filthy f**k'n bikie!" (driver swerves, scares, or collides with rider)
Trust me, it's going to get ugly. Watch ya backs/sides/ gaps.

Nice work MBB. If enough people cared about crap driving to go out of their way like you did we would all be better off. Bling sent.

Surprised the piece of shit SUV got close enough to the R1 to cause trouble.

Well blow me down with a feather!

I've called *555 a few times but got the feeling that it wasn't taken seriously. I'm pleased to find out they do actually respond to the information.

    Bling sent.

cmon maaan thats over baking it a bit don't you think ?

I fully agree that there is a time to take independent action though. If I was in a group and such a dangerous action as mentioned was taken against a member of the the group, I would fully support and take part in direct action against the perpetrator. I don't know if I would be up for giving them the bash, but I think six or eight bikers simultaneously "explaining the problem, "having a look at" his paint, "adjusting" his radio antenna, and "fixing" his mirrors on his BMW while he watched wouldn't go amiss. Aint much he could or would do about that.

"I am a licenced motorcycle instructor, I agree with dangerousbastard, no point in repeating what he said."
"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."
