    Question Motorcycle valeting?

I would much rather ride my bike than spend all day cleaning it. I can get my Car valeted, a good shiny clean car for less than a $100, so why won't anyone do my bike?? Does anyone know a bike valet service anywhere?? I do enjoy doing it myself but too much time in the garage gives me earache from the Mrs so it would be handy to know if there are any services in Auckland???

When I was 17 I worked at the red barron cleaning bikes and all I did was water blast it and silicon spray it, and it looked like a million bucks, its a scam

nar it takes all morning to clean a bike properly. Its a massive job getting in every little fucking gap, grr. I quite enjoy it though and I'd do someones bike for a hundy - it would be CLEAN though, and NO spray on silicon crap, ugh that stuff is disgusting and smells like shit too.

Clean everything PROPERLY including wheels so it looks original, suds up, chamoi dry, Ice to finish. A huge job, but will make very part of your bike look like new.

ride it through the car wash. make sure you have the side stand up, otherwise it could be dangerous.

It sure is a bastard cleaning the bike. I've just got myself a CBR250, as many now know. The last owner, and the owner before, and the owner before that, and the owner before that owner, must've treated it like shit. Dirt in places where there shouldn't be dirt (UNDER the air filter ).

It's much easier cleaning a motocross bike!

About cleaning places? No idea. Just put some time aside, motorbiking it a hobby, and maintaining it is a part of that hobby. Clean it yourself. Don't be lazy!

Hmmm... I was thinking of doing this from home to earn a bit of cash. Anyone that saw my old bike/cars will know how anal I am am about things being clean and polished. I only use Meguires products. I was going to charge $120.00 as it is a very time consuming job-includes problem area spotwash, general wash, drying with lint free soft terry cloth towels, maguiers deep paint cleaner if neccessary, 2+ coats of meguiers gold class carnuba wax (best and deepest shine on the market) detailing of all black plastic and cleaning and lubing the chain. Separate buckets of wash and separate sponges for wheels, etc then body.

See I am anal... But not in that way!!!

Im in central Hams if anyone needs my services. Weekends only and limited to two bikes per day. PM me if my magical services are needed....

I was once momentarily interested in a similar deal so I asked my local dealer if the guys who prepared their used bikes for the showroom could do mine too. He said no problem. We didn't discuss price and I haven't, as yet, used the service.

The cost shouldn't be prohibitive though as it isn't the top paid mechanics that do that work.

We use Loopy's at KR to clean the bikes if we have a bunch of them to return to an importer and they need 'the business'.

She also preps the bikes for some of the importers.

She's professional, comes to your premises, uses Meguires products liberally and spends a few hours surface renovating a motorcycle.

Specialises in Harleys, but will do MX machines just as diligently.

She charges a fair price for the effort she puts in.
