    Holes inside the knees after only a couple of rides.

    Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

    Ha ha thanks Cheese but I've got some Fly pants that are lasting well even though they are a bit bulky in the knees.
    Triple layer die-cut leather knee panels are sewn to the pant with Kevlar reinforced Aramid thread for ultimate wear protection; Patent pending, FLY Traction Knees are fully integrated into the leather knee panel to give the rider increased contact with the bike; Generous contoured knees to accommodate all types of knee braces and guards;
    They last well but like I said they are a bit bulky in the knee area and sometimes get caught on stuff. Not sure what pant I'll try next.

    The best pants are the brands that are made in Korea by Hyun Jin Industries, generally the high-end models of most popular brands such as Fox, Alpinestars, Thor, No Fear etc are all made by the same factory - the only differences come down to individual manufacturers design and material selection.
    You can't really bag a particular brand without classifying the model as most brands will have two or three (or more) price levels with the cheapest lines usually made in Taiwan or China. So to say brand X is shit is a bit misleading, but perhaps brand X's range of 'Spanker' pants is crap because they are made to a low cost/price point in China, whereas the same brands top line 'Bling' range could be made in Korea and be awesome - the difference is in the $100-$200 difference in retail price that covers the cost of higher quality materials and assembly.
    The other thing to consider is the environment you use the pants in - for instance somewhere like Woodhill (mainly sand - abrasive) or in the central Plateau (abrasive volcanic soil/pumice) is going to be a damn sight harder on pants than riding on grassy farmland.

    i have tried most brands over the years, you def get what you pay for, all the top end stuff now has genuine leather in the knees to accoutn for braces,

    i have found alpinestars to last the best out of anyof them, but i currently have fly which has been standing up quite well, and also a set of no fear which last,

    ive been using no fear pants for ages now, never worn any holes or anything in them, even with hinged knee braces, they're the more expendy model - cant remember what tho.

    I wear Fly - very hard to fault the pair I have.Bit discoloured now but man are they comfy and still no rips etc. Very grippy leather inner knees and heaps of protection.
    Whether you think you can or cant - you will always be right.
