    Cold Kiwi Auckland Push

Hi All, am dead keen to attend the Cold Kiwi Rally 5-7 Sep 08. I'll be leaving Shell Westgate at 0900 Fri 5 Sep sharp, will breeze by the Autobahn approx 0930-0945 to meet other interested parties, then head down via hamilton, kihikihi, rotongata, mangakino, then round the mountains to Ohakune & then the Kiwi site for 2 days of motorcycle mayhem.

Should get a good camp site if we go friday, all interested turn up on the day

    BRING WARM STUFF.

Do they make snow chains for the DR650? I shouldnt laugh, never know we might have a relapse of this weeks weather.

Id be more worried about getting caught in a storm and not being able to get out lol...

Id love to stick some nobblies on the dr and take that, but 3-400kms on it would be murder.

    damn mile munching dr650's...

I've learnt to hide the pain inside, open the throttle and ride away.

No Gravel Roads. The cold kiwi is a "rally" in the sense that the ride is the ride there, then 2 days of having a big party near Waiouru talking bikes & drinking beer. There are competitions such as hill climbs & burn outs, but no actual car rally like stages or touring around. Check out the web site.

there is a 5km section of unsealed road in to the event, but it isn't too serious...............unless it rains heaps and turns to mud.............but that won't happen will it

Cheeky went down. Too much beer, not enough water. Got dehydrated and ended up in ambulance. LMAO

The 007s will be there, rain, shine, hailstorm, or anything thrown at us

Might get a camp in the trees this year though, cos I reckon it might just be cold for a change this year.
