iPhone Jonny - Has anybody been following this guy? He's been standing in line for the iPhone since tuesday and just become an overnight celebrity.

The story broke in NZ, made the Herald then went international. Engaget picked up the story - then it got dugg in a big way. http://digg.com/apple/iPhone_Jonny_W...mer_in_waiting

We were checking him out at work today, he's got his own blog setup and is posting up pictures, videos and stories live from the street lol. http://1stinline.blogspot.com/

I was going to do a ride past late at night and make sure no street workers were messing with him. Or if they were - get some pics! lol! must be farken cold.

yeah I walked past him and 2 other people sitting there today. Why would you bother for the iPhone? Or why would you bother when all you can get is rip off plan by vodafone! Maybe vodafone may cut him a deal for giving them free publicity?

I really dont see how anyone can pay more than my motorbike + my car + $1000 petrol for a phone.

What does it do that others dont?

My phone has

Pictures
Internet
mp3

For $6000 it better be faster that my home pc, make my tea and solve world hunger.

Does your phone have motion sensors? How about GPS? Or maybe even computer hacking skills.....hmmm....remember image is everything, thirst is nothing....

Well if you've never played with the iTouch before it has motion sensor things in it, which ever direction you turn the iTouch/iPhone the screen changes to that motion. Plus the iPhone has the capability of tracking other iPhone users apparently via GPS though you have to register the other persons iPhone with yours......as for computer hacking skills, with the monsterous 1GB plan that vodafone has kindly offered I'm sure some 16 year old will figure out how to hack into the pentagon via his/her's iPhone....

I did chuckle today. There's a petition on the net somewhere, whining about how expensive it is. FFS... don't buy one!!

I fancy a DRz400SM.. but at $9500, they're bloody expensive. Will anyone sign my petition for Suzuki to make them cheaper!?!

People seem to have forgotten that Voda will have to pay Apple a significant amount of money for the 'privaledge' of having the iphone on their network.

yeah good point, though Apple use GPRS connection not CDMA (which is Telecom), sO there's only two choices in NZ - Vodafone or Vodafone...
